cavairo7ParticipantCharlotte Hornets:
Trade away: 2017 1st Round Pick (no protection), 2018 1st Round Pick Top 10 protected (top 5 protected in 2019 and no protection in 2020), Nicolas Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Jeremy Lamb.
Receive: Demarcus Cousins, Aaron Afflalo, and Jeff Green.
Sacramento Kings:
Trade away: Demarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay, Omri Casspi and Aaron Afflalo
Receive: 2017 Charlotte 1st Round Pick (no protection), 2018 Charlotte 1st Round Pick Top 10 protected (top 5 protected in 2019 and no protection in 2020), Nikola Vucevic, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Aaron Gordon, Elfrid Payton, and Jeremy Lamb.
Orlando Magic:
Trade away: Nikola Vucevic, Jeff Green, Aaron Gordon, and Elfrid Payton.
Receive: Nicolas Batum, Rudy Gay, Omri Casspi and Ty Lawson.
Looking at this potential trade, the Magic this summer went all in to make a run at the playoffs and while they have a losing record, the Magic are only (as of 12/22/16) a game and a half from the 8th seed and getting into the playoffs. A lineup of D.J. Augustin/Ty Lawson, Evan Fournier, Nicolas Batum, Rudy Gay and Serge Ibaka could definitely allow the Magic to make the playoffs in the East this year.
For the Kings, they get younger, while also have a potentially new starting lineup from this trade. Playing in front of his idol in Vlade Divac might be just what the doctor ordered for Vucevic after being part of the big man log jam in Orlando. In Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Coach Joerger has a tenacious athletic defender like he did with Memphis in Tony Allen and a potential building block moving forward. Both Lamb and Payton will be playing for future roles on the Kings while Aaron Gordon will be back to playing his natural position at power forward. At the end of the day though, the two first round picks will seal the deal for the Kings.
Charlotte will finally land a star in DeMarcus Cousins, pairing him with a potential 2017 All Star point guard in Kemba Walker. Coach Clifford has been known to get his players to play defense and has been able to take the worst of defenders and make them adequate in his defensive scheme (Al Jefferson), which bodes well for Cousins. If Afflalo and Green can play within themselves and Coach Clifford’s system, I don’t see why the Hornets wouldn’t be able to contend for the 2nd to 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference. Cousins will draw a lot of attention in the paint so if Williams, Kaminsky, Afflalo, and Belinelli can all connect from the outside along with Walker and Green, this team could definitely be a contender in the East come playoff time.
What do you guys think?

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantPhill needs to consult the gods and figure out a way to steal him from Sac.

The GoatParticipantBoth lottery picks, Okafor and Saric. Surely the Kings would bite.
Sixers go forward with Simmons, Cousins and Embiid, Ilyasova and Noel in 2nd unit. Some shooters and they’re in business.

vulture711ParticipantGive up their entire core of young guys to get a bunch of veterans – they aren’t knocking on the title door. Batum is nice but the rest are retreads

SmooveKRYPTParticipantSo basically all 3 teams completely upend their identity? Way too drastic of a deal to get any consideration.

CU.LIONSParticipantThe trade may not be well liked but I still aplaud the effort and creative thinking.I hope all the down votes don’t stop posters from starting their own trade ideas.
keep them coming!
