Has Thon Makers draft stock has gone up and down more than anyone elses in history?

So where is he at now?

Is he really a late first-rounder..or should teams take a chance on his anti-gravity upside?

I would say he looks like a future lottery pick at this point.Still an incomplete player and far away from reaching his potential.

His stock hasnt soared faster than anyones in history thats a huge overstatement. More like hes back on track after a rough patch. Thon still has alot to prove.

After that extremely unimpressive all-star circuit showcase he really has to bring it until his draft night. He has to prove he can bang with NBA bigs, and shoot from distance consistently. His athletisism, and ballhandling is not in question.

I think he will end up a wiry 235-245 pounds. I would love to see him at 250-260 just don’t see that happening. Alot of people saying Arizona St. Will grab him but I think it’s a forgone conclusion Coach Cal will scoop up Maker.

Overstatements are always intentional with me….but his hype after the mix-tapes was through the roof. He was at least #1 in his class for a while there.

He actually has a younger brother called Matur Maker, who is like a mini-version of Thon (6’10").

He dropped Indiana & Kansas as schools recruiting them in a recent interview. They’re a package deal…and not the Goran/Zoran type of package deal since they’re both very good.

Zoran Dragic is a good player. The fact he was benched by NBA means absolutely nothing. Spanoulis was benched by NBA and he’s one of the best 2-3 players on the planet, and maybe the best.

I’m not sure what your comment about Zoran not being good was supposed to mean.

OK euroballer I don’t give a single care about what you say, except for stuff that makes me laugh so hard I have to tell you it was so funny. Hey,don’t get me wrong,Spanoulis is an NBA caliber player, but you’re comparing him to Steph Curry,Kevin Durant and LeBron James. LMAO! Now your "trolling" like you like to say has gotten waaaay too far.

I see a package of Dirk Nowitzki/Tim Thomas in his game. I doubt he reaches Nowitzki’s level as a player.

Regardless of class, he’s at the top for me. Skills, size, and athletism. What else is there? He’s already bulking up. Learning post up moves will be way easier than the driving and dribbling skills he’s learned. He plays hard and dunks hard. That means he has a good amount of toughness in him. He might get thrown around today, but tenacious players learn to hold their position down low and push other guys around. He’s also a 4.0 kid with an outstanding work ethic and known respect for coaches. Simply put, he’s likely to end up the complete package. I’d like him on my favorite team.

Thon Maker will probably be a lottery pick based on potential alone.  He has showed enough already, and his athleticism is elite.  The draft is about potential, and I think by the time his draft rolls around (2017), he will be lotto bound.

As far as AZ St. rumors… probably legit.  His old coach is an assistant there, and he may not be the type of guy who wants to be in the crucible that is Kentucky, or Kansas, or UNC, etc…  He is better off IMHO going to a high major and play with more elite players against other elite players.  He won’t develop nearly as much at AZ St.

Going to UK is not a bad thing especially for a 5 star recruit. It may not be fun for us but for a five star recruit its almost like getting a guaranteed rookie scale contract. Maker should go to UK in my opinion. He needs to get outside of the bubble he formed with his former coach and draw a new experience from Cal and elite company.

I wouldnt be surprised if Maker skips college. He also might sit out until his brother is eligible so they can play together. He might go pro…or he might take a rest year.

Hes the kind of guy who will get drafted on upside. He doesnt need to go to college and hes moved around so much in his life that I highly doubt college in the US is his dream.

He generally doesnt commit to anything. He hasnt committed to the Australian National team, College, A country to live or even a high school.

His guardian is careful not to expose him to media, agents and other sharks circling the water.

Dude has lived a hard life. Ive come across a lot of Sudanese refugees in Australia and they tell stories that make an american street kids life seem like heaven.
