yimstreParticipanti know that it is most likely that thabeet goes number two or number three but does anyone else see him falling to four or lower?

sheltwon3ParticipantHe wont fall that far i mean he is still top 5 and I thought they had him a little too high anyway.

tli232I’ve noticed over the years that individual workouts help big men in general. GMs look at these hulking dudes running up and down the court and shoot open jumpshots and fall in love. I don’t remember a BIG’s stock fall significantly other than Brook Lopez and it was because of athleticism. Thabeet won’t have that problem at all; Athletic Big men with height/length look especially impressive in these individual workouts. But this year, with more Group workouts, everyone’s weaknesses will be more exposed. That being said, star players from Big Time Programs shouldn’t suffer from these group workouts because they’ve faced top level competition their entire college lives so there’s something to compare if Thabeet has a bad showing at one of the workouts. These group workouts will expose which small school players can actually hang with the big boys and which are pretenders. All in all, Thabeet shouldn’t see his stock fall past 4 because many teams 6-10 will be willing to trade up for Thabeet because he can make a huge difference on defense and perhaps fill a positional need right away.

rvirsalParticipantpossible but highly unlikely. i see him going to okc with the 3rd pick.
tli32: you said brook fell coz he wasn’t athletic enough, but deandre (compared to dwight) also fell. you could say deandre is still raw, but isn’t thabeet raw as well (i think him being 7’3 makes a lot of difference)?

until23ParticipantSomeone on ESPN, I forget who, has already predicted Thabeet going 5 to the Wiz but he also said Jrue and I think it was Brandon Jennings would go before Thabeet. As a Wizards fan I hope that guy has psychic abilities that many other people don’t.

tli232True. DeAndre fell too. Forgot about him for a sec. Also, it had something to do with his height. He measured only 6’9 1/2″ during predraft camp, making people doubt his ability to play centre. Also, if I do remember correctly, DeAndre had a poor Vertical at the camp, making people question his athletic ability.

PringlesParticipantThabeet will make these scouts who doubt him look like fools in a few years. His freakish athleticism and work ethic will propel him at the next level. Look at Lopez’s monster year and the ridiculous overhyping of Oden; I don’t think scouts can evaluate bigs as well as other positions.

storm33ParticipantI think that Thabeet might get snatched up by Memphis at #2.

sheltwon3ParticipantWow I though Jordan Measured out better than just 6’9″ so i will have to check on that.

michaelds911ParticipantThe reason Lopez had a good year was because he actually had these one things called…….SKILLS!!! Thabeet is garbage, he is not that athletic and work ethic can only get you so far. Hansborough is probably the hardest worker there is, but he isn’t gonig to be great. Sometimes you just have to have “it”, and Thabeet has nothing that resembles “it”.

OURJParticipantuntil23 that mock was Doug Gottleib (sp?) I believe.
I see one of 2 things happening:
Griffin, Thabeet, Thunder trade 3 to someone who wants Rubio
Griffin, Memphis trades 2 to someone who wants Rubio, ThabeetI would love to see OKC drop back from 3 and pick up another pick.
Then use the pick they drop back to to get the help they need at SG (Harden, DeRozan, or Evans) or PF (Hill or Johnson).Washington, Golden St, and the Knicks could all be good trading partners.

PringlesParticipantThabeet will lead the league in blocks within 3 years.
