international play is one of the biggest differences since i started watching ball back in 1992. It used to be anything less then a 20 point win was a dissapointment.

Curry is a great shooter and can play both backcourt positions, but he isn't physical and doesn't defend like Westbrook or Gordon.

He won't be but as good as he

He won't be but as good as he is I think Granger should be cut. He's not as strong as Gay and Iguodala down low, and I don't think he's a good enough 3 point shooter to warrant being on the roster. This team is obviously guard heavy so you might as well keep both Gordon and Curry, it's not like Granger adds any size really.

Love's rebounding and outlet

Love's rebounding and outlet passing will be usefull in this type of game.

I see the USA team struggling in the half court. They'll need to pressure the ball, create turnovers and get out in transition.

Agreed. Love will be big help down low in the post.

I think Rondo should be a starter. I don't understand even having Billups. Is Billups playing today? I'm in and out on this game.

Billups has been sloppy...

Billups has been sloppy...

As surprising is it is, Durant isn't THAT great of a fit in FIBA. He's not physical and it's clearly affecting him. It's like him vs the Lakers all over again.

yeah, billups has striked me all along throughout this process as he plays like he is so good he doesnt have to try his hardest. Hes laughing while missing ft's and throwing sloppy passes. But just as a type that he hits another 3 showing why he is so valuable.

@McDunkin I'm not a Warriors

@McDunkin

I'm not a Warriors fan. I'm a Pacers fan, but I support the Blazers (Oden and Roy) and Clippers (Gordon).

Granger didn't play well today, but at 6' 8" and able to play the 3/4... I don't think they can let him go.

I can't wait to see Rubio. He has his hands full with Rondo, Westbrook and Rose though. They're going to pressure the hell out of him, so I'm anxious to see how he handles it.

I think it depends on how bad his injury is, but when healthy his game is tailor made for international play

It would be dumb since the team has 5 true point guards 3 wings and Chandler Odom LOve are the only bigs i understand some players can play mutiples positions but it would make a much smaller team even smaller and take away one of the most efficent rebounders in the NBA and a great outlet passer for the fast break which U.S will need to utilize with their athletes and small ball lineup

I agree on Granger being cut.

I agree on Granger being cut. Durant, Rudy, and Iguodala have proven to be stronger down low. Rudy has actually surprised me with how tough he is down low. Now that Granger is strictly there really for shooting I'd rather have Curry. At the same tone even though Love should make it if they just plan on burying him on the bench the whole time, Boozer style, they might as well keep Granger the more versatile scorer. Still though the cut is probably Westbrook or Curry. Sucks though because Curry is a lights out shooter who can play point, and Westbrook is the best on ball defender we have and a slightly more reliable shooter than Rondo.

Westbrook VS Gordon

Indianabasketball I agree the final cut's going to be an extremely diffucult decision

Westbrook and Gordon both played extremely well today, which is bad news for the injured Steph Curry. Does anyone know if he'll get to play tommorow?

A few thoughts about the game.......

we just were'nt making shots in the 1st half, it wasn't Lit's defense, we just didn't shoot well or even decently. The defense was tremendous, especially on the perimeter. Coach K left Rondo and Billups in too long in the 1st half, especially when Billups wasn't hitting any jumpers, and then he brought in Westbrook and then Rose and got the same result; waited WAY too long to bring in Gordon. Eric came in and the game immediately changed in our favor. We missed 2 breakaway dunks, Gay and Gordon......who'd have thought that Iggy would have made our 1st 3 pt shot, lol. It was our 1st game, which may account for our poor shooting? Lit played less zone than I thought they would, we got decent penetration but not a lot of finishes, Very poor ft shooting by us. Team is still learning, played a good 2nd half against an "experienced" team.......we will have to get better and put two halfs together. Lastly, how ironic would it have been if that full-court shot just before halftime had gone in------we'd have led at half after missing so many 15-18ft jumpers?

Are they going to use that trapaziod lane in these games?

Game

We've had slow starts in both games (although this game was much worse than the France game)

Our defense was good but I think we'll really see how good it is when we see it against the elite guards of Spain (Lithuania's guards are not nearly of the same quality)

Durant looks way too weak right now, hopefully he will adjust and start hitting his jumper, he's goin to have to pony up if the U.S. has a chance. Actually the whole team will, we're going to have to start playing much more physical.

im not saying durant isnt

im not saying durant isnt very important and that he wont lead the team in scoring, but hes not a guy that team usa can sit back and expect him to carry them. He is still kinda weak and doesnt have the best one on one ball handling.

Durant

Totally agree llperez especially if Durant's playing the PF. I'd rather start Odom at the 4 move Durant to the 3 Iggy to the 2 and have Rondo come of the bench. After today I have a bad feeling he'll be abused by bigger 4's in the tournament.

yeah, im looking at that

yeah, im looking at that spain roster and the thought of durant playing pf is a littel concerning. He can do it in stretches. Chandler and odom are gonna have to be on top of their games all tournament. The biggest USA advantage is permiter defense and the ability to creat turnovers and wreak havoc.
