With the Donny Mitchell fan club in full voice, ppl are over looking Tatum.

8 of past 9 games he has scored 20+ pts

People have overlooked Tatum because all year long he was 3rd 4th or even a 5th option. Injuries and his ever growing confidence/experience has blossomed and he has shown his trememdous potential. Tatum will be a regular all star player in a few years.

Wow, I can’t believe how good of a trade that was for Boston/Ainge. Getting Tatum over Fultz AND a possible other lottery pick.

That is called robery in the real world.

Personally, I don’t think Tatum’s been overlooked. It’s just Mitchell’s been phenomenal. Many times I’d hear conversations about the Celtics and Tatum and then someone would just bring up Mitchell, and it would be Mitchell for the rest of the conversation.

Tatum Avg 3.2 FTA’s per game in the Reg season

Against the Sixers he more than DOUBLED that #

    37 FTA’s in 5 games – that’s 7+ FTA’s per game & he Consistently knocks down that 18 ft J & in the playoffs that Breaks a team’s back

The Fultz / Tatum trade was an unmitigated Disaster

Bryan Colangelo was out of the NBA 3+ years w/ Zero Job prospects when Phila hired him w/o vetting ANY other GM candidates

Five 1st Rnd draft picks the last 2 seasons & Zero guards who can Defend in space – passed on Dejounte Murray, Malcolm Brogden, Kyle Kuzma & others to draft Luwawu, Korkmaz & Paseknic in addition to Fultz – those 4 are the Sixers new Cheer Squad

I don’t know what kind of back room deal occurred w/ the League office & Colangelo’s father to get him back in the NBA but Phila better cut the trust fund baby loose

And hire ex Cavs GM David Griffin & Pray that will lure Lebron

Congrats to the Celtics they played a Great series winning All the close games w/ discipline

Mitchell is doing playoffs a little better. Not a lot. Overall, Tatum has a superior defensive rating to Mitchell and his outside shot is already top tier and he just got here. I don’t know who’ll end up better, but if I’m building a championship team, Tatum’s got the three ball and defense.

Tatum wasn’t thrust into being the Celtics first option like Donovan Mitchell in the regular season. If he was I imagine he’d get similar attention.

Tatum was being guarded by Bellinelli and JJ Redick the entire series.  Let’s see how he fares against LeBron.
