Anyone else love Talor Battle as 2nd round prospect? Quick, strong, and a great mentality on the court. He is fearless. He has deep range, is lightning in the open court, not a great passer but still adequate. Excellent rebounder.  He could really give someone, anyone, a boost off the bench.

He’s improved his overall ability to put the ball in the bucket every season. He’s sneaky quick but is he athletic enough to turn the corner in the NBA? He’s got some crafty moves, which helps. At 5-11, he’s going to have to play PG, and he’s more of a combo guard, which is a knock on him. Can he defend his position? He is pretty good at not making major mistakes with his passing, and shows some court vision, and is a bit better overall as a PG than comparable guys like him. Another question is, is he a great shooter or a volume scorer. Because the way he plays now isn’t going to be the way he plays in the NBA. I probably wouldn’t draft him but he will get looks in the second round because of his production.

I go to Penn State so I have had the chance to watch a lot of his games and the only way I can see Taylor Battle playing in the NBA is if he can hit an NBA 3 point shot.  He is pretty good at coming off screens so a best case scenario for him is a 9th man off the bench who can score in spurts.

Him latching to a roster depends on circumstance. He is pretty quick and a solid shooter with big time range, but he’s more of a scorer than PG, and he’s not strong or the best defender. Battle honestly reminds me of Denis Clemente, maybe with slightly better shot selection, but I think like Clemente he’s a college stud who benefits from alot of freedom on the court that he won’t get in the NBA. Probably an overseas player.
