NamdevParticipantMario Hezonja (age 19) goes 8/8 for 3 to tie the Spanish league record.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantI’m want my Philadelphia 76ers to take a long look at drafting him with the Miami pick(Or use it to trade up for him)
I think he and Dario Saric would make for a good combo at SF and PF (I believe Saric is better suited at PF, playing with Noel and Joel for long stretches off the bench)
That leave the 76ers with a hole at SG, one that could be filled by Russell or Johnson???

European BasketballerParticipantI believe you are wrong, because Hezonja is a SG. You need to get the info on his position right first.

ChewyParticipantbut that would take 1. His stock to stop rising, which is may not and 2. The Kings to get a lower pick, which they may not.
He is going to be good.

King CaluchaParticipantHe definitely has NBA range. Most of those shots came from around 3-4 feet away from the 3pt line. I think him being a 3pt-only player is misleading. He can play over the rim, but he isn’t given the chance in his actual club. Definitely worth a lotto pick.

BornaskulParticipantyeah if you check his highlights you’ll see many dunks and alley oops, he can take his man off the dribble and finish strong at the rim.
Before this game you wouldn’t hear many describe Hezonja’s biggest strength as 3pt shooting , which says something.

sitlbitoParticipantAs often with the europeans ,he’ll have a very intriguing combination of youth(20 at the time he’ll get drafted) and experience(euroleague is the closest thing to the nba in the world)especially considering that he plays in one of the best teams, and the acb liga is certainly the most competitive league in Europe. He only now starts to show what he can do on a consistent basis, and he still has room to grow.

Jco4ParticipantImpressive for a guy that’s not considered a dead-eye from 3. I think people are really sleeping on his passing ability too, he makes good decisions. If he’s capable enough to defend and play the SG position in the NBA he could create some serious matchup problems.

pohani komaracParticipanthe was considered shooter for like forever, in yuth categories he was being called for overshooting. but he is natruall shooter like guys like thompson, korver etc., but lacked consistacy mostley because he used to take lot of bad shoots
his dunk mix

HitsterParticipantA lot of knowledgable people on here have said Philly need some shooters on the roster so I can see the logic of them having a good look at someone him. His current mock position is 9th so the Heat would need to fall out of the play off spots or his draft stock drop for Hinkie to consider him with that pick.
He’d be too much of a reach for Philly’s main pick I feel unless they had a bad run of the lottery balls and ended up 5/6th when if his draft stock did rise then Hinkie might consider him.
Philly do however have 5 2nd round picks potentially this year including two between 31 and 35. With contenders often liking high 2nd rounders to get none guaranteed contracts then Hinkie could do a package to get another first rounder and possibly trade up by combining that with the pick from the Heat.
Also I could see Philly looking to possibly do pre-deadline moves possibly take a salary dump and get draft assets for doing so giving Hinkie more draft options.

HitsterParticipantTeams rebuilding can take so many different timespans Chicago post MJ and pre D-Rose had numerous high draft picks but never put the team back where it wanted to be.
Post LBJ Cleveland had a load of high picks but didn’t get into the play offs. Utah have a lot of high picks on their time but are still a lottery team. The T-Wolves haven’t been above .500 since the KG area.
Whilst Charlotte went from the worse record in the NBA to a winning season in two years, the Bucks are having a winning season after finishing 15-67 last year. The Thunder went from having two under 25 win seasons in KD’s first two years, to a play off team the next season when all the pieces click into place.
The last phrase is perhaps the key "All the pieces click into place" a team may have drafted well and be getting good stats returns from their players but it may need time to get the right mix or that team ethic. The Hawks are no way the best man for man roster in the NBA but they work so well as a team they have one of the very best records this season. Likewise the Spurs years in years out are genuine contenders and we cannot say now it is Tim Duncan factor, it is teamwork and excellent coaching.
Luckily the 76ers have Brett Brown as Coach who spent a decade at the Spurs so knows how a successful team works. He has to wait for Hinkie to deliver him the pieces to put this into practice.
The 76ers will not likely be contenders next year but with MCW, Noel, Embiid and a top 5 pick on the roster plus other supporting players, the future might look a lot better.
