Scott42444ParticipantI think that it’s stupid from a Warriors perspective for 1 reason only.
I don’t think that Amare Stoudemire will be a Warrior in 2010-2011.
Giving up Wright, the possibility of grabbing Hill at #7, and a couple others for what will probably amount to nothing (I don’t think that the Warriors are anywhere near a contender in the West with their current roster). The Warriors made a strong impression in the playoffs a couple of seasons ago, but that is because they shocked the Mavericks in the first round. They haven’t gotten better in the interim. Yes, it seems like they got a really good player in the draft last year in Randolph, but he wasn’t even a lock to be considered Top 10 out of last year’s rookie class.
If I were the Warriors, I would trade #7 for a true PG. That would enhance the existing roster.
But, Nellie doesn’t think conventionally.

llperezI don’t think Wright or Bellinenli would have amounted to anything great. There are no gaurantees at #7, and I don’t see why Amare would’nt want to resign in GState. They will surely offer him top dollar and the Bay area is beautiful. Amare with Monta, Jackson, and Maggette could prove to be a force immediately in the west.

Scott42444ParticipantI like the Bay Area, I guess I don’t have any good reason for saying that llperez22. I am usually long winded about my reasons, I just feel that way. You ever just feel a certain way about teams and players, even though there is no reason to back your feelings up.
Plus, I think that Amare would help make the Warriors a playoff team, but I don’t think that they are contenders. Plus, if they sign Amare long-term, they would have…
Ellis, Biedrins, Maggette, and Jackson at $40,000,000.00 (around) and Amare at $18,000,000.00 in about 2 seasons.
That’s $60 million committed to a team that has 1 star and 4 “almost” all-stars. I think that the Spurs, Mavs, Lakers, Portland, Denver, and Houston are above G.S. next season at least. The only year that Amare is guaranteed. Of course, having Amare and giving up 3 non-starters is a good deal (assuming that #7 would be a 6th man in 2009-2010).
Maybe I’m wrong here.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantActually its much more than a rumor, its actually pretty close to a done deal, they’re just waiting til July 1st because of Biedrins’ contract…
The terms are…
GS gets: Amare Stoudemire
PHX gets: Biedrins, 7th pick(Steph Curry), Brandan Wright and/or Bellineli
