Am I crazy for wondering why this site has him at 11? Are there people who would take Drummond over this guy? Remember athleticism is overrated. There were articles written about Durant finishing dead last in the combine results. The rest is history. oh btw how is Joe Alexander doing with all his athleticism?

No, Durant had trouble lifting weights; which isn’t that big of a deal considering how big his wing span was. He actually had a dirty combine with insane measurments, and good athletic numbers. Guy posted a 33.5 vert, and a 9’2 standing reach. Sulliger won’t have either of those.

I think the reason people see Drummond as the better prospect is because at worst, you’re going to get a big body that can play defense and alter some shots. Sulliger is a very limited player who has shown that he has a hard time finishing over bigger opponents. If he can master that jumpshot he might have a chance of becoming a dangerous player, but right now he is just your prototypical PF in the mold of Carlos Boozer. Not exactly a bad thing, but when you’re drafting in the lottery it’s better to go for the home run.

Sullinger does have some resemblance to sweetney being undersized and having trouble finishing inside, but he is already more skilled and seems more commited to getting better and staying in shape.

Just for fun I wanted to see what the best comparison for Sullinger would be, and this is who I felt was the closest. This comparison has to of been brought up before, because both Glen Davis and Sullinger play the same way. Both use their size to rebound and establish low post possition, but can also hit the 15 footer. Davis has shown that he can be a capable player, but would you draft Glen Davis in the lottery? I think Sully has more upside then Davis, but not more so then some of hte other PF in the draft. Just take a look at their stats from their final years at collage. Nearly identical.

    Jared Sullinger- 6’9- 265 lb

    30.4 MIN, .519 FG%, .400 3PT%, .768 FT%, 9.2 REB, 1.2 AST, 1.1 BLK, 1.2 STL, 17.5 PPG

Glen "Big Baby" Davis- 6’9- 289 lb

    35 MIN, .484 FG%, .347 3P%, .713 FT%, 10.4 REB, 2.3 AST, 1.0 BLK, 1.1 STL 17.7 PPG

Sullinger has a monster wingspan, but it looks like his vertical is around the height of a phone book.  Luckily, he is skilled, and could play the pick and pop game, but I feel his low post game won’t be very effective.

Jeff Withey did give him fits, but he did the same to Anthony Davis and he’s a lock for #1.  I think Jeff Withey is a lot better than people give him credit for.

I’ve seen the Sweetney comparison for a while, Sweetney just ate himself out of the league.  He was a 10 and 5 player and I think Sullinger can do that and provide offense at the 4 off the bench for a team.  I don’t see Sullinger letting his weight go crazy, like Sweetney, so I could see his best season being around 13 and 7.  I think he’s late lotto material.  That’s when you pick guys who’s upside is a starter or 25+ mpg guy or gamble on a high potential guy.

A lot of people are down on Sullinger, but I think he is going to turn into a very good NBA player. The Sweetney comparisons are terrible. I think Sullinger is going to have a way better work ethic and career than Sweetney. He already droppped 25 pounds from his Freshman to Sophmore year, (so that shows how he has a good work ethic) and has worked on developing his range an outside shot (which I think is underrated.) He’s a winner too.Sullinger finished his high school career with a 95-4 overall record, including a state championship his junior season.  He was the leader of a #1 seed (33-2) in the NCAA tournament as a freshman and a final four appearance as a sophmore. A lot of people criticized Kevin Love for not having enough athleticism for the NBA and look at the player he has turned into. Sullinger also is not that undersized he’s 6"9 with a 7"2 wingspan.

I’m not comparing him to sweetney. He asked how Alexander was doin with all his athleticism and I’m asking how sweetney is doing with his lack of athleticism. That’s all

If Sweetney wouldn’t have gotten fat no one would be freaking out about that comparison.  He was a very good college player, played for a very good G-Town team and does a lot of the same things Sullinger does. Mike Sweetney went to a Sweet 16, he wasn’t a player without team success.

He was an 8 and 5 player and part time starter by his sophomore year.  He had untapped potential, then, but he let his own issues take that away.

No one is saying Sullinger will eat himself out of the league, but they do have a lot of similarites.  I’m just saying imagine Sweetney stayed in shape and continued to develop after his 8 and 5 sophomore season.

I like Sullingers grade and his floor is basically first big off the bench on a good team.  That’s worthy of late lottery given how many guys utterly flame out.

Other then wearing dresses nothing sully does should be questioned he will only improve. Some of the best pf in this league are 6’10 to 6"8.Sully was the focal point of offense in Ohio he was doubled and tripled hes not going to get that in the nba so that make makeing an impact easier on him.

i think Sullinger can go anywhere from as high as 9 all the way to out of the lotto at 16. i dont think he’s such a cant miss prospects that teams would regret passing on him on draft night itself, but he’ll definitely be taken by the team who feels he complements them as of right now. his projection will be a whole lot clearer after the order is set. i know if i was washington, i’d try to trade for a mid-round pick for him if he were still available. i like his attitude and approach to the game.

I think he is…remeber Dejaun Blair,Brandon jennings,Sergeballu LaMu Sayonga Loom  Walahas Jonas Hugo IBAKA. At first glance you know these guy are going to make an impact but teams passed on them due to ???????Who knows they made excuses not to draft these player and it came back to bite them when thse players showed there more then able to produce on a starter level one day in the NBA.

We know the things he doesn’t do great. But it seems the things he does well or always overshadowed by the bad.Which are few things and thats the funny part any one who can command a defensive scheme where 2 or 3 sometimes even 5 ppl have to stop one person should not get the neg he gets.

Just want to thank Benny for being one of the few here who knows the difference between complement and compliment.
