BEAST. Steven Adam's is gonna be 1 hell of a player.

He's humble, but confident. A freak athlete. He has all the size you need. He's raw, but his mechanics all look fine.

I'm so excited to have him coming to PITT. Teaming him up with Khem Birch is gonna be something to watch in the future. Very athletic big men who play D. Exactly what PITT needed.

Adams is for Real..Even if he enters the 2012 Draft thats should be full of Studs..He still might go in the Top 6...I Love his athleticism, toughness and understanding of how to play like a big man..Most 7 footers these days want to be small forwards...

he seems to have the kind of

he seems to have the kind of nba body with the capacity to add some muscle...

I'll see him as a better version of biedrins with better offensive potential. He really could developp into a dominant center "à la" jooks noah : passion, heart, toughness.

NEW ZEALAND REPRESENT! On a

NEW ZEALAND REPRESENT!

On a more seious note his ability to drive the lane has realltb improved and even when surrounded he is still able to score. Also, with his height you'd have to expect that he can block shots, he can, but what really tops it off is his wingspam. In a couple of players I don't think he even jumped to block a couple of shots! Finally, his passing is better then I expected, which is good for a big man.

He's not white, he's a maori

He's not white, he's a maori (descendants from the Pacific Islands just like some of the football players, i.e. Troy Polamalu). Some of them just look white. Seeing that her sister is a gold medal winning shot putter, his genes aren't that bad lol.

Damn straight. Those Maori have some physical freaks in their gene pool. Anybody watching the Rugby World Cup (lol probably nobody on here) would know what I was talking about. One Maori named Jonah Lomu that used to play on the team was 6-5, 270 lbs and supposedly ran a sub 11 second 100m.

@ItsDwightHoward I'm a rugby

@ItsDwightHoward I'm a rugby fanatic as well lol playing for my school's 1st XV and maybe if it doesn't work for basketball I might go play for the national team back in my home country (not NZ, it's way too hard to even get to Super Rugby team here haha). Oh yeah um Jonah was of Tongan descent and played Basketball before he was discovered to play Rugby (By 14 years old he could dunk the ball with two hands). Go All Blacks! France vs All Blacks tonight or early in the morning in the US, for those who are keen to watch it.

Lomu

I was thinking it was Starks, but it probably is Marbury with all of the Adidas logos. Either way, the guy was an incredible athlete. Anyone see the movie "Invictus"? They talk about how dangerous he was as a rugby player, looks like an athletic marvel. He is actually of Tongan descent. Nonetheless, the Maori people have an incredible history, would be great to see Adams succeed and hold them down. Supposedly close to 800,000 Maori descendants world wide, so, not very many in the scheme of things.

With Tongan's and Samoan's, the amount that end up playing professional football per capita is astronomical. Has not translated to basketball as much, but the combination of strength and athleticism possessed by some of these Polynesian islanders, seems like only a matter of time. I am sure their are probably even higher numbers in professional rugby, but I pretty much just know that 60 minutes did a focus on how many Polynesian islanders end up getting football scholarships and how while they have a population of under 200,000 on both Tonga and in Samoa, they have a major number of people descending from both islands playing in the NFL.

Proud Granpa, he is tongan so

Proud Granpa, he is tongan so he is technically not white. That could actually be found to be oracist by some people. I now understand why you have -200 or so points. Also, I now wish I voted you forum villan because that was just plain offensive.

Geez, Chill out

I was just looking at the picture of the video. I didn't know he wasn't white. The reason I have negative 200 is cuz sometimes i just jack around on this site, not because I intentionally attack people and start race s***. And I've gained, like, 80 points in the past week.

And I'm not on the ballot for forum villain.

cool

Yeah I only discovered rugby in university. I played basketball, football, and volleyball in highschool but the college I went to didn't even have a football team. It did have a rugby team, and being one of the biggest guys on campus I was recruited by a couple of guys to join the team. So I ended up playing center on the basketball team and second row on the rugby team for 4 years. Long story short I was exposed to a game that I ended up loving.

The Polynesian build was

The Polynesian build was always seen as very strong and squat especially from countries' Samoa and Tonga so they would naturally be ideal to play NFL and with their Rugby tradition they can excel at that sport or perhaps make the transition to American Football.

I can recall that there was some talk about Jonah Lomu going to play in the NFL back in the 1990's but it was when Rugby Union first went professional so he decided to stay put.

Steven Adams will not doubt have a very strong base which with his overall size will make him a potential monster in the paint. He could perhaps declare in 2012 and could be the sort of guy who might leap up the boards if he did a few good workouts and would no doubt have impressive Combine measurements.

Realistically a year at Pittsburgh in 2012-13 might be better for him to help his game develop a bit more and he would still only be 19 by the time of the 2013 draft and must stand a great chance to be one of the first big men drafted that year and a likely overall top 5 pick.

Being in England, I've always been a keen Rugby Union and Rugby League fan although I would not fancy playing either code these days.
