Spurs-Bobcats trade
Why do so many people seem intent on trading Gerald Wallace? He's only 28, even if he looks a lot older and the Bobcats should rebuild with him as their leader while he has sime mileage in him. He brings great D and hustles every play, and he's the only original Cat left. I very much doubt he'll be traded in the near future.
No, he's not a number 1 scoring option, but he's still a great leader and a player to build around. The 'Cats have a number of good young players at the moment with a lot of potential; Livingston, DJ, Henderson, Wallace, Ty Thomas and dare I say it, a good post defender in Brown. Jordan needs to cut anyone older than Wallace and get back into the lottery, there are some game-changing players coming through in a couple of years, so throw the young players to the fire and build for the future. As good as Jackson was for the 'Cats this season he needs to go so the Cats can invest in youth.
Also, this wasn't a specific response to your particular trade, just noticed lately that a lot of people are including Wallace in their trades.
Wallace might not be a franchise player but I feel the man deserves to play on a contender. Charlotte ain't goin' nowhere with the team they have, they've been bad to mediocre for years now. They've improved some but really not that much either. Gerald is the type of player that will make a team better, no doubt. He's versatile and plays great D, I feel he'd be a great fit for Orlando. Too many soft players on the wing and not enough balls. They should trade either Carter or Lewis and take in Wallace + extra, Charlotte might even consider it.

What if the Spurs-Bobcats talked about this deal
Gerald Wallace, Erick Dampier to San Antonio
Tony Parker, 1st round pick to Charlotte
Would either side do that deal?
