 Boban Marjanovic.  The Spurs were looking a little short, with Splitter and Baynes gone, and Aldridge doesn’t want to be a center.  

Adding a 7-4 veteran player, who can hit free throws, is such a Spurs thing to do.  They had a weakness, not a lot of height, and just went to their international scouting and solved it.

He probably gets 5 minutes a game, and doesn’t play every game, but when they play Howard or M Gasol or Gobert it will be useful to have someone taller to put on them, and to foul.

Those who have seen Boban play can tell us more.

 In a NBA comparison he is like Roy Hibbert, i watch overseas basketball. He may not be as strong as Hibbert but is a better defender and moves just as well as him. I think Pop has more in plans than using him just as a body for fouls, he can actually score.

That is not true , Hibbert is a great defender, and Boban’s defense is his weakness.
His similiarity with Hibbert is mostly based on size.

But yeah he can score ,and can definitely hit free throws on a good %(78%).

 I usually dont make comments like this, but I just checked him out on his Serbian teams website. He has to be the ugliest person I  have ever seen,  His looks are abnormal. I feel bad for making this comment, but it is like a trainwreck.

 He’s slow and all,but he has terrific hands and touch and size. He’s not a defensive presence right now but a terrific finisher with a good feel for the game. I said it a few days ago,teams in need of a center,he’s better,I think, than the centers still available. And as always the Spurs outsmart the rest of the league. Because it’s always the same thing :If there has to be one franchise being able to teach him the ropes of the NBA,it’s gonna be the good ol’ Spurs. Terrific pick up if you ask me. Just a perfect match.

The Hibbert comparison may not be as (totally) idiotic as it initially seems. At least in regards to "verticality". Not only is Marjanovic all, like, super huge, but his arms are rather long, actually. ENORMOUS hands, too. Thus quite hard to imagine him not having some sorta impact on the defensive end (even if only "accidentally").

Now, offensively speaking, Boban’s a bit more skilled (with far greater range). Of course, on the other hand, his shooting motion is so slow and mechanical it may not matter much. However, he catches the ball well near the basket, plus possesses a good feel for what to do once he does (i.e. try to put it in).

P.S. I had something else to add (regarding Marjanovic’s appearance) but have decided not to go there.
