Smart Kids
Obviously you dont get it... i was responding to nbanflguy's post... A normal person would probably spend over 100k to go to those universites for 4 years and a sh!t ton of work just to be able learn that handshake...it was a jokemaybe the slave labor threw it off just poor choice of words on my part
There us nothing as bad as someone explaining his joke... maybe genocide
meh life moves on not the first time someone doesnt get jokes wont be the last... I guess i could put this on everything is lebron fault thread right?....ohh another horrible joke it gets worse and worse.. im gonna stop now.
edit: yeah poor choice of words on my part and im sure people who have been on this site long enough know im not that type of poster.
Anyways, past the "joke", I wonder how they came up w/ this scheme, why they are doing it, and what does it mean to them? It reminds me of the things LeBron and his boys used to do in Cleveland, wild handshakes and such. It's good to see Harvard and Stanford repped in the NBA, usually they go on to have medicore careers like doctors and lawyers, good to see some success finally. hahalol
Jeremy Lin is the first player to come from harvard to the nba in a while, the last one to do it was Ed Smith in 1953
Stanford has had more sucess of bringing players to the nba the lopez twins, the collins twins, josh childress, brevin knight, mark madsen, casey jacobsen and few others so they have produced nba talent before
Other players to come form ivy league school besides harvard
Geoff Petrie(princeton), Bill Bradley(princeton),Rudy Larusso(Dartmouth). and others as well.
J. Lin wanted to go to Stanford real bad. As a California guy it was his first choice. But Stanford didn't think he was a good enough basketball player. Just the first of many to underestimate his game.
By the way Scott, it is more like $200K to do four years at those institutions. Kind of disgusting, I know, but that is the going rate for top of the line private universities.
"Why are they doing it"
I'd bet that they didn't have a handshake two weeks ago. I'm guessing Fields is just trying to make more out of their NorCal roots (... idk if they were actually friends growing up), becuz good attention never hurts.
And this is much diff in a respectable way than LBJ's, as goofy of a handshake this is.

Most NBA players couldn't remember this whole handshake routine...
