kobyzParticipantMCW, Gary Harris, J Park, Thad Young, Noel… From worst team of all time to playoff team?

Hi its BenParticipantI actually do like this. Gary and MCW can play with each other and guard both point guard and shooting guard. Noel provides rebounding and shot blocking and Thad is the classic stretch 4 and can switch with Jabari fluidly between the 3/4 spots. It’ll be interesting how they fill out the rest of the roster but this starting five is young and promising to say the least.

joecheck88ParticipantThat team may lose more games than this years squad. From a talent and potential standpoint it’s a bright future but reality is that is starting 3 rookies and a second year PG. And undersized PF.

Sewok15ParticipantI guarentee that team would win at least 20 games. They would be undersized up front but they already played the fastest pace in the league last year. Noel will provide shot blocking which is something the Sixers have been lacking since they had Sammy D.
Harris > James Anderson
Noel > Sims
Parker> Hollis Thompson
I don’t know if you realize how little talent the Sixers were starting after trading Hawes and Turner…

joecheck88Participantthey probably would. Just showing my lack of optimism towards the OP. They won’t smell the playoffs and will be closer to their record this year than a playoff birth. I admit I didn’t watch many games of theirs but I saw some names in the stats during NBA gametime that I have not seen since probably 3 years ago and they were playing for Georgetown. lol

ncballerA lot of you are really high on Noel. Even pre-injury I wasn’t that high on him. Really raw, inflated block numbers because he went for every block. The athleticism and potential were there of course, but I don’t see a major contributer right away.

burgessfourParticipantreally good down the road. The problem is I think Thad may get traded and I think Hinkie wants players
with length, which is not what Gary Harris is. Personally I really like him.

KidBParticipantThat would be a great starting lineup, but I’d also like to offer what I hope to see happen:
* Adreian Payne (PF) – hopefully from trading Thad and #32 pick to move up to late teens, or early 20’s
* Jabari Parker (SF) – #3 pick
* Nerlens Noel (C)
* Nik Stauskas (SG) – #10 pick
* MCW (PG)
Key off the bench: CJ Fair (#39 pick); Kristaps Porzingis OR Dwight Powell (#47 pick); Andre Dawkins (#52 pick, and re-unite him with Parker); Tony Wroten; Henry Sims; James Anderson
Regardless of which lineup gets put on the court next season, it’s reasonable to expect them to win at least 5 more games than last season.
Final Record: 25 – 57 (2014 – 2015 Season)

juves4783Participant76ers have $20M+ in free agent money. i’d throw as much money at greg monroe as it takes to get him in philly.

burgessfourParticipantI love the way you think. I have a serious man-crush (ok, fantasy football term) on Payne. Love the backups
for SF & PF. I would be psyched if they walked out of the draft with Parker, Stauskas, Payne.

KHAM83ParticipantPeople loves to throw Harris in as the obvious pick because MCW makes up for what Harris lacks in size, Harris can guard the pg while MCW the sg, blah blah blah. If this is your best option, then ya get Harris, but having two and long guards is not an issue. Usually teams with a task pg pursue smaller sg because the tall pg isn’t able to guard the small and quick pgs. This isn’t the case with MCW. Unless Harris is by far the best sg available when your second pick comes around, I think they are better off taking a bigger sg, assuming that’s the position they take.

SpartanGloryParticipantGary Harris is the best 2 gaurd in the lottery and really would be perfect next to MCW. Read an article about Harris today about his workout and he was called a lottery lock by scouts in attendance. I’ll post that in another thread. I also like what KidB is thinking with trading for Payne. Take Parker with the first pick and that’s a future playoff team.

MattP31ParticipantLove to see the Sixers take him but based on what I’ve read I’m not hopeful. It sounds like he’s likely to pull out of the draft if he doesn’t think he’s going to go high enough and the Sixers would have to either take him #10(unlikely) or trade up to get him. Also if somehow the Sixers draft him I would have to believe Hinkie keeps him in Europe at least another year- especially after sending college player Kazemi over there this year

toady_buddhaParticipantNot sure why everone seems to be discounting the trade angle so much. Just because we have draft picks doesn’t mean we are forced to strictly draft for talent. Picks can be as good as players when used as the "assets" they are. With that in mind, try these options:
#1
MCW
Gordon Hayward (could fill Danny Green role)
Maurice Harkless (bigger, better Bruce bowen)
Noah Vonleh (maybe not Duncan, but oozes potential)
Nerlens Noel (defensive version of Splitter)
Notice a theme here and remember Brown is our coach.
Or with some more work
MCW
Gordon Hayward
Maurice Harkless
Kevin Love
Nikola Pecovic
I have no idea if Brown could get enough defense from this group, but regardless they’d be fun to watch and at least 2nd round material.
