Sixers Fans will be flooding this website, so the haters gotta get used to it!!

C – Embiid.  He has the size and swagger of an NBA player.  Y’all see him doing the African dance to fire up the team.  His activity on Twitter, the kid is a born star.  He is gonna take this team on his back.  I think he gets frustrated sitting on the bench watching all the ugly play.  He’s smart, he already has a feel for good basketball.  This season means nothing, since we don’t have the big chesspiece in the middle.

F – Nerlens.  Deer in the headlights.  No concept of playing at a measured pace.  He was impressive against Dwight Howard, because he had a defined role.  On defense I am surprised he has a very small impact.  He was a rim protector but too often he’s defending a guard at the key.  On offense, he just doesn’t have a clue.  He is NOT a good rebounder.  Struggles to gain weight to establish himself downlow.  The worst of it all is, his hands.  He has very small hands and cannot catch passes or rebound well.  The game needs to slow down for him, but i don’t think he is very mentally bright.  I see him as a bench player on a good team.  He doesn’t have the tools to deserve starter minutes.  I do think a lot of his problems are mental.  He needs to gain some confidence and then I think he will start to hold the ball stronger.

G – MCW.  He has impressive size, but this year he needs to stop complaining to the Refs like he is an established veteran.  He also needs to stop thinking he is Russell Westbrook and learn to get his teammates involved more.  I think the Hinkie-project is screwing his development and creating bad habits since he literally has no one to pass it to.  But Wroten and Shved look WAY better than he does as far as running an offense.  MCW came in thinking he’s a star, when he clearly is not.  He needs to control a game better, know when to involve his teammates more and when to get in the paint to hit his jumper.  The alley-oops to Noel DO NOT WORK.  I am fine with him as my starting PG in the future, but he needs to involve more of his teammates and quit passing the ball to Jakarr Sampson.  But defensively, his ability to create steals is a ++, and thats why I will take him on my Future Sixers playoff squad.

G – Wroten.  I see Wroten as a bench player on a good NBA team.  He is a change of pace, combo guard.  If he can improve his shot, all the merrier.  But his ability to score in the paint is great and will be very useful once we have a real big in the post.  He is good offense coming off the bench, I will keep him for sure, he’s coachable.

G/F – McDaniels – what a steal.  He can pop the three if set up.  He is a shot-altering defender.  Solid rebounder.  He just needs time to develop that body a little more.  When he adds on 15 pounds of muscle, this guy will be on teams minds.  Needs quicker feet for lateral movement to guard league-elite.  He is either a role-player starter once he develops or a very good off the bench specialist.

G – Shved.  I like his game.  I think he’s a savvy European player.  Plays the pick-and-roll well.  He can set up his teammates.  I think his teammates feed off of him the best.  He’s a little passive and needs to add some muscle.  But he like MCW, has absolutely nobody to pass the ball to.  I think he knows at this stage he is a much better PG than MCW is right now.  MCW should learn how to play within the game from him.

F – Saric.  I see him in a Kukoc roll in the NBA.  He’ll be a good playmaker for this squad.  But again, it seems like we have a lot of playmakers but no scorers!  I can see him starting at the 3 or 4, depending on how well he can defend.

I am interested to see if Jordan McRae can come in here and be a scorer.  He would add depth, maybe be a second unit player.  I don’t think Aldemir or Kazmi have any shot at playing in the NBA.

The 6ers very frustrating to watch.  This team has an obvious need for shooters, and I would’ve gone the Doug McBuckets way if we could do it over again.  I can understand the potential of Saric over the you-know-what-you-get with McBuckets, but unfortunately this team just has NO offense.  Maybe Hinkie thinks you can get spot-up shooters anywhere.  But instead of drafting Jerami Grant (another skinny defensive minded player who can’t plya a lick of offense), would’ve been nice to use these picks to pick up a shooter or two.

    ALL THAT CONSIDERED….

This is how I see the Sixers Roster by the time Saric gets here:

    C – Embiid (if healthy)

    F – Saric, Noel

    F – McDaniels, Grant,

    G – McRae, Wroten, Shved

    G – MCW

    SO FOR THIS YEAR’s DRAFT:

I would still take another big man if he is there.  If Towns can hit the outside shot, he looks to be a much better talent than Noel (much more solid frame and offensive potential). I would even take Okafor and let Okafor be the second unit center, and use Saric as my big-man setup guy.

If I took Towns, I’d play Embiid, Towns, Saric, McRae, MCW.

I’d have Noel, McDaniels, Wroten, Shved, and hopefully some shooters to fill out my roster.

If I took Okafor, I’d have Embiid, Saric, McDaniels, McRae, MCW.

I’d have Okafor, Noel, Wroten, Shved and some shooters to fill out my roster.

Although I like Mudiay a lot and think he is a very smart basketball player, I don’t think he fills a need on this team.

This team badly needs shooting and Mudiay is another playmaker, not shotmaker.  I might trade down from 1 and try to pick up Towns if he’s there at 4 or 5, or if not Towns then a Stanley Johnson/Oubre type and Austin Jackson from UNC as late lottery or mid-1st round.

Thats a lot, but i’m excited by yesterday!!

if this roster comes together like I laid out:

I see us drafting another scoring big with our top pick, or an athletic swingman that is a better scorer than KJ.

I see us like the bulls in the future.  The shooters can come through Free Agency and mid to late draft picks in the future (like the Bulls getting McBuckets) or the Spurs with Bonner.

Its just extremely frustrating to watch since they have nobody that can shoot right now.

My preference is Towns, then Okafor, then the better of Oubre/Johnson.  I hope we can pick up Austin Jackson from UNC (light-skinned brotha with a sweet stroke), in the middle of the 1st round somehow.

    C – Embiid

F – Karl Towns, Nerlens Noel

F – Dario Saric, KJ McDaniels

G – Jordan McRae, Tony Wroten

    G – MCW, Alexy Shved

There is no true 2-guard in this draft right?  That is 9 players, we need 3 more, another offensive big and 2 shooters.

Don’t forget all the second round picks they have this year plus a 1st rounder from Miami. 10 times out of 10 I’d take Saric over Doug. His ceiling as a player is very high. They need to get some sort of veteran presence in that locker room by the time Saric comes around…

And that team would still be the worst team, seriously I feel like the 76ers are going to become the marlins of the nba

Michael Jordan circa 1991 would be the greatest help!

Seriously, the team needs time for the roster to develop, Noel needs to get used to the NBA, MCW is back which is good but again he needs to really get up to speed. Embiid we need to see what he can do once he is sound. If these three happen, throw in a high pick next summer, they get Saric over too and the team suddenly looks a lot better.

Effectively they have to get worse to get better.
