uncfan011ParticipantThe sixers have looked great the last 2 games out. They are full strength now, and have a pretty decent team on paper. I do like Thaddeus at power foward because he is quicker then most PF’s and has nice post moves. He is also athletic enough to rebound. AI and Lou are playing well with and off each aother. I really like how allen is playing right now. Hes not trying to do to much and surprisingly shooting at a great percentage. Iguodala is doing his usual thing filling up the stat sheet and sam is sam but I like brand and speights off the bench at the same time giving the defenses different looks. I dont think coach jordan likes Brand too much but he had 25 and 9 the other night against the blazers and is showing shades of the old brand. I still dont like the signing of him but if he can give us 14 and 9 right now im okay with it. We still cant defend well and guarding the 3 all year has been a problem for us. I am scared that the sixers will have another mediocre year and be stuck drafting late lottery or around 15-20. Stefanski needs to really do some wheeling and dealing and figure out what direction he wants this team to go in going foward

UC1000ParticipantThe Sixers are my childhood team and it is scary that they may win 25 games. Why not just win 18-20 and have a better chance at Wall or Cousins? Dalembert, Green, and Young are the only valuable trade pieces and I’d actually trade them all if I could get McGrady’s expiring contract.

JNixonParticipantI think we’re in a situation we’re we have to make some moves. Brand and Dalembert have to be moved, but I have a hard time seeing one of them getting dealt, let alone both. I think we’re a competitive team when we have all our bodies healthy, but be still defend the 3-ball poorly (as you said) and we still aren’t quite where we need to be shooting the ball.

uncfan011ParticipantYea I said the same thing.. I would def do that trade to free up cap space going foward.. I would also like to see them pick in the top 5 or have a shot at wall.. Because lets face it AI either has one year left or may retire after this year and Lou Williams is more of a Monta Ellis type combo. Not as good however. Also Jrue Holiday is a nice back up PG

TRC1991Participantthe reason the 76ers dont go with this lineup despite the fact that its perfect is because allen iverson bitches about not starting wherever he goes
C-Speights
PF-Brand
SF-Young (having a bigger small forward allows iggy to slide to his natural spot and they can defend the 3 better)
SG-Igoudala
PG-Williamsoff bench:
SG-Iverson
PF-Brand
SG-Green
C-Dalembert0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/31/2009 - 6:46am #242349
PlatypusParticipantBrand, Kapono and Dalembert for O’Neal, Haslem, Wright

uncfan011ParticipantYou have brand starting and coming off the bench? and Iggy is not a shooting guard im sorry to say.. Him and thaddeus play the same position, but having young at pf is a mismatch for other pf’s because of his quickness. As far as iverson goes, yea he had problems at other teams but your telling me he couldnt start for a grizzlies team or for a pistons team who had injured players? Iverson is the best fit to start for the sixers right now. He and Lou are playing well together right now and frankly AI has changed his game in a positive way (so far) because he doesnt have the quickness he used to. As far as brand and speights go, i would start one of them over dalembert, just because sammy is an offensive liability.. also brand and speights are playing decent off the bench

the microwaveParticipantlong time sixers fan here.. iggy is definitely a more natural 3 than he is a 2….. its ashame our tm is not good enough where iggy only needs to score 14 a gm… he would be so much more efficient..
14 pts / 8 dimes / 5 boards i think is definitely realistic with his abilities, almost operating as a pt forward. I would never move thad, speights, or jrue.. i think they will be a solid future tandem.

the I in winParticipantfor that phi mia trade, the heat wouldn’t take on so many bad contracts with 2010 coming up. to move brand they would have to give up one of their good young players like young, williams, or holliday
