I think they should. Their frontcourt is deepest in NBA and there is not enough minutes for all of them. Even without him they have nice three men rotation- Gasol, Gibson, Mirotic + they can add some veteran help on minimum contract and also have Bairstow. Noah is great player and cornerstone of the team, but also Chicago’s the most expensive frontcourt player and not better than Gasol. He has very good trade value, so Bulls could trade him and strengthen their backcourt. They have Rose and Butler and decent role players like Dunleavy and Hinrich, but would benefit a lot with one more quality wing like Afflalo, Matthews, Kevin Martin, Jeff Green, Danny Green, Terrence Ross, Jeremy Lamb or someone like Dragic, another playmaker especially if Rose would get hurt again. Noah will earn 13.9 million next season and when they give a max money to Butler, Bulls are gonna be somewhere around 80 million $.

 Even if they won’t trade Noah, Bulls are in great position for future especially with probably two first round picks next draft

I’m aware of importance of Noah for Bulls and everything he brings to this team. I ask this cause I don’t know if Bulls are willing to be 80+ million $ team in the next few years after they resign Butler. If they are, there is no problem, but if they’re not, they will have to move someone. If they trade Noah, they can get some cheaper and quality backcourt help and draft Willie Cauley-Stein who can be their future center when Pau retires. I don’t think they should do any trade till the end of this season

No team can be too deep in their frontcourt. The only complaint comes from the angle of individual statistics, but assembling individual stat lines is not the way to build a champion. Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson have offensive limitations. Niko Mirotic has been solid offensively, but at this moment is a complete defensive liability. It is to be expected given that it is his first year in the NBA, but the team’s championship window cannot wait for him to come along at that end. The depth, stylistic differences of those three, and both the ability of Pau and his contract makes it special. Those four guys are “only” making $32 million this season. I can argue that given the offensive limitations of Noah and Taj that they are making more than would one would want ideally, but it is certainly offset by the fact that Pau Gasol would be a bargain at double his salary. It continues to boggle my mind how he got to Chicago at that price, but it played itself out in such a way that the Bulls have a legitimate title window. Pau Gasol has been excellent on both ends, is easily playing at an All-Star level if not an MVP one, and is versatile enough to be paired with any front court mate the team puts with him. The combination of Pau Gasol’s skill level and the depth of their frontcourt is affording the Bulls the luxury of not pressing Derrick Rose too much early in the year after missing the prior two. Jimmy Butler has been phenomenal, and deserves praise for continuing to get better every season, but the gap among mediocre, average, good, and great on the wings and at the guard spots is nowhere near the difference in the gap that exists among big men. If you have the advantage, you ride it for everything it is worth. Would I like to see the Bulls add another wing defender? Yes, but they can offer the Kings pick, the swapped up pick with the Cavs, and/or Doug McDermott (whose own defensive liabilities make it so that he will not work in that 2nd unit with Mirotic and Brooks) at the deadline and find a team willing to deal.
