I haven’t followed Shabazz as much as I should have, so IDK if this is how he normally acts but….

I was very impressed with how he handled himself after that dunk.  That kid in the green clearly slapped him (and had no chance of stopping Shabazz) but Shabazz just threw it down and acted like it was nothing.  No celebration.  No smack talk.  No puffin his chest out.  No bitchin to the ref for a call.  Just proceeded to go back on D.

If that was me, I think I would have atleast said and-1 or something and looked at the ref for a call.  That he just proceeded to play was as impressive to me as the dunk.

His arm length is bananas on bananas. I seen a lot of videos of him, his demeaner Derrick Rose workmen like quiet doesnt talk trash always attacking the rim. I’ve seen videos of him straight up dunking on people and he doesnt react and show off.

he doesnt seem like he is a super star athlete. He will never have kobe type or rose athleticism. So he will be great not all time great, unless he develops a great shot, and/or playmaking ability because he is a good athlete not a great athlete

i actually think he is an elite athlete hes very fast running down the court and has a killer 1st step , his quickness is amazing , sure vertical may not be as good as kobes but he has everything else , i think he could improve his vertical a few iches and then he will be fine

You wouldnt know how good of an athlete Shabazz will be he is only 18 he can add like 5 more inches to his vertical and improve his speed drastically if he wanted too

you could tell lebron was a great athlete when he was 17. When you watched rose at memphis you could tell that he was super explosive. There is nothing wrong with being a good athlete, but atleticism is normally genetic, I not saying he sucks but when you watch him he doesnt have the explosive ness to be a elite(top 4 to 8) player in the league. But being 6-5 and not an elite athlete you need to develope more skills to make up for that. He will probably end up like a joe johnson, thats who he seems like to me.

All that dunking you see in his mixes won’t translate into college or the NBA.  He’s mainly dunking because of his long arms a big hands. He doesn’t get up as high as some of the elite jumpers. His vert is good, not great. He’s gonna get swatted if he tries that sht at the next level.

I dont see the Joe Johnson comparison Joe doesnt have any explosiveness at all. I can see him being a James Hardin type of player as an athllete they resemble each other most. Also in college Hardin didnt have that kinda lift to his game he got it in the NBA.

It exactly looks like harden added more bounce to his body after being in the league. All Im saying is shabazz is a good athlete right now but is close to great and he has good skills with a calm way of player. He may add some more bounce and then that makes him an elite athlete I guess. But bounce is not everything. Look at nick young he had a 40 inch and so did Mayo but those guys are not elite athletes.More things go into athleticism than just leaps thats all im saying.

ya from the video seemed to  be able to find ways to score, by not jumping, but nobody knows if he will be able to do that in the nba. I know there are different types of athleticism, like chris paul(quick and explosive) but he didnt seem to have the explosive first step, there are ways to get around it, he just  would need to develope more skills. You keep say that I think he will suck and is as athletic as the white mamba(aka Brian Scalabrine). All i said was he is not going to be a top 4 to 8 player. I think that he could be a top 15 player thats not bad if you become that.

some of hardens dunks, especially between 1:20-1:30, look the same as they do now and these were four years ago. shabazz uses his athleticism constantly to score in the paint, finish in transition, defend, etc. harden has always been underrated athletically because he has always been able to get away with his IQ/crafty abilities. now that he’s in the NBA he uses his athleticism more because the players around him or more athletic.
