GrizzNationParticipantHe’s been working out with the dukies for a while now, after the recruitment of kyrie Irving who do u think get the nod at St?Curry or Smith? I’m hoping Curry gets it I’d hate for him to have transferred to sit on he bench, but Smith is a talented player as well, what y’all think?

lilt252ParticipantThere lineup is going to be
Smith
Dawkins
Singler
plumlee
plumleeBut kyrie and seth are going to play the 1 and the 2 so they will prob get significant playing time

SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantThere is no chance Smith is not a starter.
There could be a number of different starting line ups
Smith/Curry/Singler/Plumlee/Plumlee
Smith/Curry/Dawkins/Singler/Plumlee
Irving/Smith/Singler/Plumlee/Plumlee
Irving/Smith/Dawkins/Singler/Plumlee0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/03/2010 - 5:13am #345925
SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantI think Coach K will start Smith/Curry/Dawkins/Singler/Plumlee
Smith will start because Coach K wants to show NBA people Nolan Smith can be a PG in the NBA–Plus he’s a returning starter from a championship team and will probably be the most dynamic scorer.
Curry will start because he’s been with the team for a year and from all reports is very talented. He’s paid his dues. It’s basically between him and Irving for a starting job in my opinion.
Dawkins will start because he’s the best fit for the 3, and Singler will play both 3 and 4.
Singler will start for obvious reasons
And then one of the Plumlee Bro’s will man the middle.
There are a ton of different lineups Coahc K will employ throught the year. We could see Irving/Smith/Curry/Singler/Plumlee– talk about a fun lineup

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI think Irving will start because Coach K is changing the offense for a fast paced PG.
I think it’s Irving- Smith- Curry- Singler-Plumlee

McDunkini think K starts off with the lineup that lilt252 mentioned to start the season off, but sooner or later i believe it will be Irving starting at the 1 and Smith at the 2 with Seth and Andre coming off the bench.

dolla130Participantkyrie will be the starter from day one and smith is a sg and will move back to that spot and there is no way coach k will start all three together because 1 curry can be instant offense off the bench and 2 there all small guards will look like there line up will look like this
Irving
smith
singler
plumlee
plumlee
sixth man curry0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/03/2010 - 6:08am #345949
thatdude44Participantthere is no way Irving is not the starter for that team. with all the hype, the most a duke player has had in years. and more then then likely a one-in-done player, he gets the starting role. as for curry, hes gonna get some playing time but i see smith more then him

mini_marzParticipantcurry wont start but i believe he will got lots of minutes at the 1 and 2 subbing for smith and irving while dawkins will spend time at the 2 and 3… Coach K is the best coach in america he’ll figure it out dont worry lol

Charlie SheenParticipant3 guard line up
Irving-Smith-Curry
1 forward
Singler
1Big
Plumlee
6th Man

CelticJayhawkParticipantThe 3 guard line-up is nice, but why would you move Singler back to the 4 when he played so well at the 3 last year..doesn’t make sense. Mason Plumlee is going to start with his brother Miles. You could see Josh Hairston, their frosh PF, start at the 4 and mason at the 5, or ryan kelly (who used to date bill cowher’s daughter hahah) could start at the 4 and stretch the D with his shooting…either way Singler doesn’t move back to the 4. Irving and Smith share the backcourt, a lot like Sherron Collins and Tyshawn Taylor did last year, with Collins handleing the ball most of the time but Taylor handleing it when Smith is out of the game.
By the way, get that Dawkins starting stuff outta here. No. Chance. In. Hell.
Smith
Irving
Singler
Plumlee/Kelly
Mason Plumlee6th: Seth Curry
7th Miles Plumlee (If Kelly starts)/ Kelly (If Plumlee starts)
8th: Dawkins0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/03/2010 - 7:48am #345971
CelticJayhawkParticipantIrving, not taylor.

plasticmanParticipantHow good is Seth Curry? I’m surprised people even want him to start. Nolan Smith is a star, and Irving is supposed to be a great point guard from the get go…From what I’ve seen and heard Seth is not nearly as good as his brother. Is this accurate? What kind of player do you see him being say in his senior year?

SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantSingler played better at the 4 in college than he did at the 3… Singler was pretty average the whole first half of the season

plasticmanParticipantSingler did struggle a bit the first half of last season. He adjusted though and came on after awhile though and played well. I’m no Duke fan but I think it would be better for their team and for Kyle to keep him at the 3.

JNixonParticipantDuke’s lineup next year:
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Nolan Smith
SF: Seth Curry
PF: Kyle Singler
C: Mason Plumlee0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/03/2010 - 7:01pm #346262
CelticJayhawkParticipantSingler struggled so much they won a championship with him at the 3..my bad
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/03/2010 - 7:11pm #346267
SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantYou were talking like Singler dominated at the 3 and struggled at the 4, when realistically in terms of individual success he arguably played worse this year for the most part than the past year.
Singler will player both the 3 and 4 so this argument is irrelevant, but saying Duke won a championship with him at the 3 and not 4 has nothing to do with the argument at hand.

IknoBall12Participantsum of ur lineups are jus pure stupid. i mean if u follow duk ethen u kno dam well there is no way andre dawkins will start over kyrie or seth. also they arent going to start a 3 guard lineup. its going 2 most likely be irving point. nolan sg, singler 3 and the plumlee boys at the big man spots. duke will change the lineups alot throughout the game but these guys will start

Im Your FatherParticipantAnd I’m not positive that Seth Curry will get more pt than Andre Dawkins. Dawkins was a 5 star recruit who is a good athlete and can shoot the lights out. He is also bigger than Curry. Curry is really being hyped up, and hopefully he will be good, but people are acting like he’s a guaranteed star. I don’t think it’s a given that he will get more burn than Dawkins, who showed great potential last year and was tearing it up before his sister was killed in a tragic accident.

JNixonParticipantI’ve seen Curry play (although only 2 times) but he seems to be better than Dawkins. I think Dawkins has a chance to start over him because he’s bigger, but he’s not really a better player at all IMO. Dawkins’ only clear-cut advantage is his athleticism.

Leftovers16ParticipantThink what Coach K is gonna do unless u work for him or can read minds… Coach K is a fundamental coach I don’t think he will change that to benefit one player and showcase their skills that’s Calipari’s job
