DemarDerozanParticipantI dont understand why everyone is so hyped over Dion Waiters, like give me a break.
The kid cancels are his work outs, and all the sudden everyone is thinking hes sooo amazing just because people think he has a promise from a team. That promise could be in like 20s for all i know. Waiters didnt even start a single game in college, he came off the bench.. not saying hes a bad player.. but when people come out and say hes gonna be drafted #4 overall or anywhere in the top 10.. is crazy..

NbanflguyParticipantYour just mad he might get drafted before your Demar

Malik-UniversalParticipantthis is kinda random but is anybody watching nba tv right now….. did seth davis just say that moe harkless is a second round pick….. then i think he had his top 5 SG’s prospects and had doron lamb over terrence ross

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantD.Lamb is better than Ross but Ross goes over him because of Height and athletic ability. Lamb is a better ball handler, defender, shooting, better decision maker

lilballa141ParticipantSame thing I said man. I just don’t get it.. kid isn’t nearly as good as the hype surrounding him says…. The league is lacking two guards so badly (seriously name the top 3 sgs in the league… wade kobe.. uhhhh …eric gordon whose not even healthy ) that teams are trying to find the next guy.. whom i don’t even believe is in this draft although Beal is a beast ..its shabazz

Jason_GrayParticipantFunny thing is there has never been a player who played off benh the year before he was drafted and ever been anything besides a serviceable solid player (Marvin Williams and Corey Maggette)… Both of those guys were suppose to be big impact players.
I just don’t see what the hype is over a guy who came off the bench and was streaky. He’s a first round pick but 4th? no way!

Tight ButtholeParticipantAll I know i that if Cleveland takes him at #4 with no intentions of trading him away, Dan Gilbert’s pretty little casino they just opened up in Cleveland will burn.

FUNKYBUNCHParticipantbut some of the rumors I have heard today have been making me scratch my head… one minute the Bulls are drafting Tyshawn Taylor, the next minute they are talking about trading their pick. John Henson actually being considered at 5!!! wtf? I dunno, maybe there is a lot of smoke screen going on- it’s hard to tell at this point. This draft hasn’t started yet and it’s already CRAZY!

JCBaca15Participantmy problem is i dont like that attitude
seems as if hes saying hes already proven
work out!
but apparentley he didnt need to
as he could go as high as 4!
wtf

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantHe’s an undersized guard without a true position, has a shaky jumpshot, questionable defense due to syracuses zone defense and he has a low ceiling, sounds like a top 5 pick to me..

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI agree, that’s the reason I had him going in the 20s a couple of weeks ago. Nothing about him says top-10 talent.
He’s just a hyped scoring combo-guard with no PG skills, fans usually hype these kind of guys a lot. (Mayo, Flynn, Fredette)

lilballa141ParticipantI read this comment online and I just had to post it… my thoughts exactly
"Someone has to help me understand this please! Dion Waiters did not start for Syracuse, a team that made a fairly early exit from the tournament and for his 2-year college career averaged 6.6 and 12.6 points a game respectively. The Warriors are arguably the worst defensive team in the NBA and statistically the worse rebounding team. So rather than going after a strong, rebounder and defender they are drafting, for the 2nd straight year by the way, a shooting guard?? This one an undersized one at that. The uninformed are comparing Waiters to Dwayne Wade. Wade also had a 2-year college career, his averages were 17.8 and 21.5. What am I missing here folks???"

basedSERBParticipantone question for you…have you ever watched him play? The dude is an absolute monster he has superior athleticism, ballhandling, and shooting and was the leader of the team while coming off the bench.. i would take him before any other guard in this draft in a heartbeat

bswervesParticipantDion Waiters is straight up NASTY. He’s going to be bucket-city in the league. I mean if you can get buckets you can get buckets, and this kid can get you buckets

RUDEBOY_ParticipantSome of the Dion Waiters HYPE is Legit..Those comparisions to Wade arent fair..But His 1 on 1 skills are on par with the top nba players..Scouts love how he Attacks the Rim…Can scores in bunches and in a variety of ways, ability to play both guard spots well and has a killer jumper…..I wouldnt be shocked if Charlotte picks him at 2….
0- Posted on: Thu, 06/28/2012 - 12:13pm #689787
GoJOSH HUESTISParticipant"His one on one skills are on par with top NBA players" this would be false, if that was so he would be in top 3 talk and he will be a allstar in year one since top NBA guys are allstars

RUDEBOY_ParticipantYou dont have to have great 1 on 1 skills to be a all star…..People are Knocking Waiters becuz he came off the bench..And didnt put up big numbers….But this time next year.yAll Will be on his bandwagon….
