I realize it’s early and he might not be a one and done, but how is he supposed to go number 25 in 2012? You would think he would be lottery at the very least. They did that with Tyreke too, had him very late first and didn’t move him up into the lottery until it was like a month away from the draft. I just think Selby is a way better prospect then then 25th pick as a soph.

Agreed. If Selby is the starting point guard, I could see him go in the top 14 next season.

If he waited until 2012 he probably would be a top 10 pick. If he comes out next year he probably is close to the lottery.

6’3, freak athlete, best scorer in the class, can play point guard, will prove to be a lock down defender. I’ll see him on campus next year and might just fall in love with him. am i scaring you guys yet?

whats the difference between him and avery bradley, i hear undersized 2 with freakish athleticism. bradely seemed like a lotto pick much of the year and went 19 in a very deep draft. so again whats the difference between the 2 and who do u think is better?

Ty and Selby will split the backcourt..KU’s downfall as a team is lack of a true PG Selby could be that..no more athletic of a backcourt then KU this year with Selby TT Elijah Johnson..if you haven’t heard of EJ, check out his 360 through the legs in Derby Classic a couple years ago.

Johnson is lightning quick and I think he’s going to be very good, I’m just ready for Brady Morningstar to leave, he’s a Senior (RS) and although he can play good perimeter defense and has a lot of experience, I think that him playing too much could stunt Johnson’s growth. KU’s backcourt is very crowded right now and Morningstar isn’t the guy I want in having minutes. He’s not a high charachter guy either and I just hope Self sits Morningstar to let the young guns have a go at it.

Selby will go out there and prove what he can do. If he plays like a top 10 pick to lottery pick, he’ll be moved there accordingly as per Aran. A lot of people just think he’s an over hyped combo guard right now, but we’ll see. I’ll reserve judgement til I see him play next year. Can’t really just go based off what I’ve seen on the HS all-star circuit, def looks good though.

I guarantee you Tyshawn Taylor will see the lion’s share of minutes at PG. Their situation will be like it was last year, Taylor will play PG most of the time because he’s steadier and a better and more consistent pure playmaker than Selby/Collins. Selby will play some PG, but he’s clearly a SG and will only play PG to give him chances to score with the ball in his hands and because he has the size of a PG.

He’ll go in the top 20 or more likely the lottery because he’s a very highly touted HS recruit and he brings scoring punch. He’ll also be a very productive 1st year player too, which doesn’t hurt. I don’t like that he’s a tweener, but teams will probably look past that because he’s so highly looked upon and so aggressive as a scorer.

his outside jumper still needs work.

He’s like Jerryd Bayless IMO, nasty mid range scorers, who can get in the paint at all.

yea I asked Aran if he was similar to Bayless. He said yeah, somewhat, but the difference was that in HS Bayless game screamed NBA as oppose to Selby who looks good right now. So thats saying something coming from Aran. Like I said, Selby will be given every opportunity to show what he can do next year. I can’t wait til the season start to see these Frosh play…

Selby actually reminds me of Willie Warren more so than Bayless. But the freshman version of Warren, not the one that was trying to prove he was a PG last year.

Yeah I think Selby is a rich man’s Warren with more pg skills.
