Seattle Supersonics

Anyone know when they will return to the NBA?
I hope it is very soon, I have really wanted to see them wear the green suit!

The Kings look like they're going to leaving Sacramento, so there's a chance.

Seattle fans

They had a great fanbase, I didn't understand why an NBA team left them. For good times or bad times, fans were there to support them. Something that fans down there on the southbeach wouldn't do if their hometeam is having a terrible season

Seattle deserves a team

Seattle deserves a team again, the Sonics were there for 41 years so had real history but I would be loathe for Sacramento to lose their team given the passionate nature of their fans and the efforts of Mayor Kevin Johnson. But if a new arena cannot be sorted for the Kings then they look the most vulnerable team to possibly relocate.

Its all on Clay Bennett

The team was purchased from Howard Schultz in 2006 for approximately $350 million on condition that Bennett would give a good-faith effort to keep

the team in Seattle. At the time, the team was known as the Seattle SuperSonics. E-mails revealed that Bennett's group never intended to keep the

team in Seattle and planned to move the team to Oklahoma City.

pretty sure i saw a little while ago that David Stern said he wants a team at least in place to be in Seattle by the time he resigns in 2014 or whenever it is

Being from Seattle, nothing

Being from Seattle, nothing was more painful than having to stomach Clay Bennett's lies... If anyone wants the FULL story, type in Sonicsgate in Youtube and watch the documentary - its very good and revealing

I too am from Seattle, as you

I too am from Seattle, as you can see from my name, I was a die-hard sonics fan. It still sickens me to this day that our team got taken from us. What I really wish for, and this is very highly unlikely if not impossible, is that every player drafted by the Sonics who are currently on OKC's roster (Durant, Collison, Westbrook, and Ibaka) would join the Sonics if they were to get an expansion team. (again, basically impossible :(..) If we do get the Kings, I would feel really bad that we had to do the same thing to Sacramento that OKC did to us. However, I miss my Sonics! Having an NBA team here again would be AMAZING!

Clay Bennet still owns the Seattle Supersonic s,

if a team does end up in Seattle thee will have to pay Bennet for the right to the name and all things Supersonic, unless the want to start from scratch! not saying its right but how it is!
