So before the season I made a thread where posters could predict the rankings for the eastern/western conferences and for some of the season awards. I had a scoring system and kept track of who predicted what.

I’ve already calculated and posted the scores for the regular season ranking predictions, seen at: http://nbadraft.net/forum/season-picks-re-visted

Now I’ll be going through the scores for the awards predictions as well as the combined winner. The awards we looked at were: MVP, MIP, DPOY, ROY and 6MOY.

Top Awardsmen: jmarg23 with a total of 13 points out of a possible 25 points. Received points for having Noah and as Crawford as top choices for their awards and Durant as his second choice for MVP.

Bottom Awardsmen: TheTruth86 and franfran for each having a pitiful 1 point from a possible 25 points. TheTruth86 received his sole point for having Durant as his third choice for MVP while franfran received his only point for having Noah as his third choice for DPOY.

Fun fact to note, nobody had Dragic as any of their choices for MIP.

Now for the final combined results to crown the top dog. But first, the biggest loser.

The Ground Hog Award (thinking you can predict the future but in reality you can’t, and are just a rodent living in a hole): Grandmama with a pitiful 45 points. Grandmama got here by having the worst Eastern conference predictions (15 points). To put this score into perspective, franfran received 42 points for his Eastern predictions alone. Pick up your game Grandmama!

The Nostradamus Award (turning guesses into correct answers): franfran with 75 combined points. Franfran got here by getting 74 points for the regular season predictions, but was almost brought down by the weak award predictions (1 point). Rileymcshea3 was a close second with 73 combined points (11 points in the award predictions almost got him the championship belt).

Congratulations to all the winners! And shame on all of you who did so poorly…. But the winners should post on this thread to reap the benefits of getting non-refundable points from strangers over the internet!
