Sewok15ParticipantLast night we saw arguably the top 2 teams in each conference go head to head. It is so early in the season but these games can set the tone for the first part of your year as a team. Boston played well but lost the game and a key player on a horrible injury. Thankfully for them they are deep on the wings but Cleveland still owns the east until proven otherwise.
In the late game Houston pulled the upset despite CP3 not being much of a factor. PJ Tucker was the X-factor and could be one of the more underrated signings of the offseason. Harden and Gordon looked great but I still don’t see how Paul fits well with this team and the style they play.
Tonight we have a full slate of games and I am looking at 3 games that intrigue me.
Sixers at Wizards- Washington is a top 3 team in the East. Their guards will be trouble for many teams especially the sixers who have trouble controlling dribble penetration. They do have Embiid inside but we all know his talent is scary but so is his injury risk.
Simmons making his debut playing PG will be an issue for other teams to deal with. Fultz is someone who I think will be brought along slowly judging from what I have seen out of him. If The Sixers can get a win in Washington tonight they could gain a ton of confidence and start the season decently unlike the last 3 years 0-7 and 0-17’s.
T-Wolves at Spurs- The Timberwolves got a makeover and it looks promising…for real this time. Butler and Teague bring veteran stability to a team loaded with talent. The Spurs always seem to be under the radar and even without Kawhi I look for them to take care of business at home. This team isn’t ready to fade away yet but their window has to end soon especially the way the West is currently constructed.
Bucks at Celtics- The celtics played last night but lost their big FA signing in Hayward. Do they stick with the smallish lineup and insert Smart to the starting lineup? It would be a better defensive team but shooting would suffer. The Bucks are primed to make a jump this year and the Greak Freak could be an MVP level player. These are two top 5 teams in the east for sure.

OhCanada-ParticipantOne day closer for all that shit I was talking in the offseason to come true. Then I will say "see…Im right" and everyone will give me thier points because Im great. "Good job OhCanada, heres my points sorry for not believing you". Then Ill go to the bank and convert those points for real money and buy the Toronto Raptors and make a thread on this site asking who wants to start for my team. Because Im always right!

Critically ThinkingParticipantThe Sixers didn’t win tonight but, I think they looked pretty good, especially simmons. Bucks are about to win over the Celtics as I type this, which I find very impressive after Haywards message at the beginning of the game. The Celtics had to be playing with emotion.

BeastMode716Participantthis…… It Absolutely Hurts my SOUL to say!
But WOW Phila looks STRONG
Embiid has Barely practiced w/ that team & their top 3 players are all Rookies (Embiid is not technically a Rook but he’s played 32 NBA games) & Fultz is gonna come along slowly as a back up
But I don’t know if Washington wins this game in Embiid plays 35 min
And I am Floored at how good Simmons is – they Really did play him at PG – not point forward & in 34 min he had One turn over – never Hogg’d the ball.
W/ Hayward out, I got the Wizards as the #2 team in the East – Wall & Beal are Phenomenal & Gortat played Gr8
But by the 1/2 way point of the season this Phila team is Going to be a real problem

Memphis MadnessParticipantDillon Brooks had 19 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks in the Grizz win.

The GoatParticipantI think Simmons answered some questions straight away. He doesn’t have a jumpshot, but he knows it and stays in his lane. He doesn’t have to force it. If defenders back off him, he’ll use his pace to run into the available space to get into his range. I thought he was very impressive for a 6’10" PG on debut. Sixers have been the worst team in the league over the last few years combined, so a narrow loss against a strong Wizards team is positive. Wait til they all click after the ASG…
