When looking at prospects what are some things that tell yo how you feel they’d be in the league? Rather it be traits, body language, skill or anything else. For me, one thing I take away from watching guys is trying to find atleast one thing they can hang their hat on that could translate if forced into an NBA game tonight. Please share yours too.

Mudiay- physical advantage over most guards & a nice handle. If nothing else he’d be a matchup nightmare.

    Okafor- post moves & touch

Russell- Jump shot, court vision & being bigger than most point guards.

Myles Turner- being a big man with 3 pt range & a mobile shot blocker.

Karl Towns- rebounding, high post game, jumper from 15 FT.

Kristaps Porzingis- A shooting guard in the body of a center

Justin Anderson- A versatile and athletic scorer

Cliff Alexander- A pushy athletic threat in the paint

Perry Ellis- A solid scorer who can play both forward positions

Robert Upshaw- A strong rebounder and elite rim protector

Isaiah Taylor- A traditional point guard with no jumpshot

Willie Cauley-Stein- An athletic threat on both ends of the court

Porzingis doesn’t have the handles of a SG. In fact, I’d say he’s dangerous from a triple threat position. His biggest strength is the catch and shoot, but his drive to the basket is at least respectable, because of his size. Defensively, he can contain the pick and roll and he’s a great shot blocker… so he’s not a SG in a C’s body, he’s not Bargnani.

Even if his offense doesn’t translate, his defense should.
