HitsterParticipantWith the last CBA teams were allowed to waive one player to save on luxury tax and whilst they still had to pay him or buy him out they could save potentially several million on the luxury tax bill.
With talk of cap tightening and a possible hard cap, I wondered if people could see this amnesty being run again and which players might be released?
Gilbert Arenas was one name who immedately sprang to mind gven that the Magc will be well over cap for this year and the next or maybe even Turko whose buyout or salary is a lot cheaper than Arenas’s.
The Lakers might look to lose a lesser player or a veteran maybe Fisher or Walton.
Other teams are at or below luxury tax level but a few off season moves might change that so could Boston perhaps release JO or the Spurs say Dceman under this amnesty.
