The Sacramento Kings have the 7th overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, and with this franchise being in complete disarray in the last few years, expect the new owners to chose wisely with this pick as they take a step in a new direction:

With the way things are set up now in the draft one major prospect is bound to fall into Sacramento’s lap at 7 but will they take the chance

BPA: Anthony Bennett, Victor Oladipo, Alex Len, Trey Burke

These are the most likely prospects who will fall in Sacramento’s lap if their not top 5 picks, but Alex Len looks more and more like a top 5 lock as time goes on.

Then their are the very rangy prospects, that have worked out in Sacramento who are somewhat equal in value but can bring different attributes to a team looking for an identity:

Michael Carter-Williams, CJ McCollum, Cody Zeller, Shabazz Muhammad

I might be missing some players so if you notice, please let me know.

    Everyones opinion is welcome!

man as a kings fan I’m not sure. the only pick I really feel good about is trey burke. but I could have high hopes for a MCW, Zeller, or Oladipo too. there’s really no way to predict who will be a great player and who won’t. especially in a weeker draft class.

    heres my players in order:

    1. Otto Porter (long shot but I don’t want to take chances on passing)

    2. Alex Len (team lacks interior defender)

    3. Victor Oladipo ( Coach Malone wants a defensive minded team; plus he is a hard worker)

    4. Trey Burke (Not a huge fan, but wouldn’t let him slip)

    5. CJ McCollum (favorite player in draft next to snell, could work well with tyreke)

    6. Michael Carter-Williams (guess he’ll do)

I can see Burke and Bennett possibly falling to the kings. They would be better with Bennett who can create his own shot in the post or on the wing.

I think McCollum is the way to go. Their immediate needs are a SF and defensive big man but I don’t think they’ll get their money’s worth at number 7. McCollum is already an excellent shooter and scorer, he’s perfectly capable of being a good distributor. Defense is his only question mark but none of the other PG’s are lock down defenders either. Whether he ends being like Steph or Jimmer, I think he’s worth the risk.
