I’m interested in seeing what the Kings will do on draft night. It’s certain they’ll walk away with at least one potential star (Fox, Tatum, maybe even Jackson).

If they stay put, they could potentially add another star with that #10 selection.

Who should they pick at that slot? I’ve seen Zach Collins, Lauri Markakken and even Harry Giles slotted in that spot.

I’d say, go for whomever falls to them at #5 out of Fox, Tatum and Jackson and then take Markakken at #10.

Trading up would be a last resort imo. This is a deep draft, adding two potential star is a possibility.

but the Kings should just stay put and get BPA. Let’s say they get Fox at 5. This doesn’t mean they have to get Markkanen or Collins at 10. If for some reason Monk, DSJ, or Ntilikina fell, they should take them. It won’t hurt drafting two guards as Collison, Lawson, and Galloway won’t be part of the future anyway.

Yes it does mean that. Kings don’t need a bench guard at 10

If they don’t trade up for Fox in almost all scenarios he is gone 2-4. Depending on who is left if either of Jackson or Ball remain at 5 that is the pick, but odds are better that they will have thier pick of Tatum,Smith or Isaac.

They need a pg a taking Smith at 5 would be justifiable, but I think in that scenario they would go Tatum or Isaac.  idealy they would then hope Ntilkina falls to 10.

If not they have a significant number of high ceiling options in that range , although none will be pg’s. My guess is they would take Kennard or Mitchell, both great shooters esp Kennard and both capable of running the point if they want to fill that need despite some other position prospects possibly being better longterm values. Like either Collins or Giles.

If it were me I would take Tatum or Isaac at 5 and bpa at 10 regardless of position. Best case Ntilkina followed by Kennard,Mitchell,Z Collins,J.Collins & Anunoby.

They aren’t taking another SG (Hield, Bogdanovic, Richardson, Temple)

Kennard and Mitchell are both more than capable of running the point if they take a sf at 5, it is a stronger possibility than you might think. They also could just do what they WANT to do and trade the 5 & 10 for Fox at 3 from Philly.

Unless a stud falls to either spot, Dennis Smith JR and TJ Leaf go 5th and 10th then Sac Town moves Papagiannis for Kyle Anderson and attempts to swap their (SAS) first round for Sacramento’s second round pick. If SAS bites then draft night brings in Junior, TJ, Slo Mo and a late first rounder (maybe early second rounder instead) to team with Buddy and WCS.

    Or not …

    *Notice*

My concept, not a rumor or anything.

Is 10 too high to take Justin Jackson?

According to Chad Ford they fell in love with Fox after his workout/visit and are exploring trading up to 2 or 3 to take him. Not sure how much stock we can put into that, but it wouldn’t surprise me much. If the Lakers go Ball at 2, I can definitely see Philly trading down to grab Monk at 5 and a Markannen type at 10.
