Ill say its pretty much a draw between the 2 with great performances by both but Ill give the edge to WEsty because I think OKC comes away with a win.

bdoody42ParticipantI am really tired of this topic.
But since it is about which team will win I will say Thunder come out strong tonight.
The question should be which team has more wins for the season?
Ill answer after I see some other peoples responses.

mgreener_34ParticipantAfter playing as team mates all summer it should be interesting to see how they defend each other. It’s going to be an explosive game thats for sure.

OhCanada-ParticipantHAHAH funny thing is the conversations are gonna pop up like crazy after this game and everyone is going to look at every pro and con and every detail of the matchup with a microscope. Thats why I wanna watch it myself…so I can understand what really happened.
In every fantasy league Im in I either have Westbrook or Rose on my team lol never both.

Mr. ChicagoParticipantOf course he is going to miss the Raptors game for the Thunder/Bulls game. The Raptors field a high school team. jk.
It should be a great game, and I love the Bulls, but the way Westbrook played over the summer, I give him the edge; Rose will have to take it from him.

GrandmamaParticipantRose is killing it early, two nice reverse layups and a couple nice dimes…..I see Durant will be getting superstar calls, he clearly charged Bogans and the refs gave Bogans a blocking call.

OhCanada-ParticipantLol im not missing the Raptors game, I thought about it then I said screw that…now I realized I can watch the Bulls game on cable so I switch on Raps commercials. Westy and Rose are very very even so far. They both look like spectacular PGs and definite allstars.

OhCanada-ParticipantHonestly, Rose is manhandling Westbrook and is completely ungaurdable yet Westbrook is having a terribly hard time getting penatration on Rose and CHICAGOS team defense. The statline says its even but if you watch the game everyonce in a while youll see Durant or Sefelosha in Westys ear lecturing him on his mistakes gaurding Rose.

stanford hoopsAre u watching the game. Pretty much neither are blowing past each other. Most of there points are on picks where they have to switch defenders

stanford hoopsSo far rose has scored more but keeps fouling (bad defense) so he’s on the bench with 4fls 24pts 4ast 2reb
Westbrook 21pts 9reb 4ast. 9-10 from the line

HaleParticipantRose has looked improved on defense for the most part, very poor at boxing out though.

stanford hoopsI don’t see it. You not playing good defense if you’re picking up 4fouls in 20minutes
His defense looks the same to me.

HaleParticipantThe 4 fouls isn’t everything, he to me has looked better defensively. Although he is forcing it too many jump shots on offense.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWestbrook is winning this matchup so far. He’s having the better all-around game.
He’s fortunate to not have to carry the offensive load for his team.

stanford hoopsWestbrook 28pts 8-15 shooting. 6ast 10reb. Very very efficiant
Rose 28pts 12-31 shooting 6ast 4reb
Round one clearly/easily Westbrook.
Scoring as much taking less shots shooting better getting to the line easier wayyyy better rebounding better defense

dolla130Participantmost of westbrooks points came from put backs 2nd chance points and the free throw line, rose made it look easy in the first half his offensive game is way farther along then westbrooks and he also looked like the better pg imo i think those fouls got rose out of rythm because he sat out most of the third and part of the fourth it was a good win for the thunder tho but i highly doubt westbrook and durant combined will attempt more free throws then a entire team
game 1 westbrook tho

stanford hoopsLol. Everyone works for there points. Rose worked for his as well. And shot horribly. Stop giving excuses is all I’m saying. Westbrook played wayyyy better. Wasn’t close. We already knew he was a better rebounder and defender.so that’s no suprise. Westbrook scored like he usually does as far as effort except he was much more efficiant. I still have Westbrook as the better point guard by a hair. Which is amazing because unlike rose he hasn’t been a pg all his life and is still learning the position. He just gets better every year
He should have told rose to move his feet and stop sending him to the line.

SteroidParticipantIf Rose has to take 31 shots for the Bulls to be competitive, then that’s not good. Boozer coming back will take some shots away from him, but there still is some room for concern.

stanford hoopsSince they were drafted, Rose and Westbrook have spent summers working out together in a small high school gym in Santa Monica, Calif. Renowned trainer Rob McClanaghan conducts intense workouts that include tons of conditioning and shooting drills. Rose credits Westbrook for helping to improve his shooting. Westbrook said Rose has passed along tips on how to be craftier around the rim with layups.
“We’re definitely cool and close,” Westbrook said.
Don’t even call them rivals on the court.
“I wouldn’t call it a rivalry,” Westbrook said. “I would just say both guards are trying to make their teams better… I go out every night and try to compete and try to win. I’m not trying to make it a one-on-one battle. It’s my team against his team. So we’re going to go out there and try to compete.”-John hood.com
