The8thDeadlySinParticipantI was wondering what you all are hearing about trades from this draft.
Here are a few things I have been hearing.
If Zeller falls to the Blazers at 10, they will pick him and trade him to the Suns for Gortat. So the Suns could end up having 2 rookies in the top 10 from this draft.
I hear that the Magic are shopping their 2nd pick and hope to pair Nelson with it. They would even be willing to add Aflallo if the deal is good enough.
If the Cavs cant find a trade partner, they are rumored to have decided to pick McLemore.
What have you heard?

jjbutler73ParticipantCleveland is not taking McLemore. And Orlando won’t get anything for #2 plus Nelson. If they made that trade, it would have to be for another point guard and who is taking that trade who actually has a quality point to give up?

mercyman25ParticipantThey will probably throw some garbage players in to make the salaries work. Phoenix needs to strip their team so giving up Gortat for a young stud makes great sense. If Phoenix was a playoff team, I would say no way. They are a few years away from that dream. I say getr done!

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhy “can’t” you trade Gortat for the 10th pick?? Is there some rule I don’t know about?
Do you have an inside source that is telling you that the Cavs aren’t taking McLemore?? How do we know that some team isn’t offering a lot for Waiters??
Im not saying it will happen, but if the Clippers resign CP3, I bet they would trade Bledsoe and pieces for the pick and a great backup PG in Nelson..
You say everything like you know for sure it wont happen..
These are rumors from sports sites with people who know..0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/12/2013 - 9:04am #795765

fastdanParticipantGortat was openly unhappy about his role in Phoenix this year. He’s a UFA next season, and with the Suns being pretty weak and a lot of teams likely willing to offer big money I’d say they know he’s already thinking about next summer. They are in rebuild mode, but lack young talent.
Portland wants a big C to rebound and defend the paint, and they want one who can do it now, not in 3 years when Leanord will start coming into his own. Their GM said they need a polished big this offseason.
It seems like an easy connection to make, yet often the simplest ones are ones that never get done.

wrectorParticipantI hope you don’t believe the Cavs have honestly made their mind up 2 weeks away from the draft without any medical records released from Noel, that’s truly foolish. However, their current big board is said to be Noel, McLemore, Porter – but that’s bound to change a million times before the 27th. Also, the Cavs aren’t going to trade the pick because they won’t get a player of the caliber they’re looking for (ie Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge).

ProudGrandpaParticipantLook, there’s no need to get all condescending. You seem to be under the impression that all I contribute to this site is stupid wit and ignorant, off-topic comments, but if you look at my previous posts, you’ll see that I’m not a complete idiot when it comes to basketball. And yes, when you mention so-called rumors on this site, intending to discuss them, you shouldn’t be surprised when people want direct sources before discussing these rumors, regardless of what kind of a poster you are. If you’ve seen these rumors somewhere, most of us just thought it might be nice if you could find the report so we could all see them, too.
I honestly don’t think you’re making any of these up as, yes, I DO respect you as a poster, but we would all like to see these sources.

Memphis MadnessParticipantWhy would someone post bogus rumors? I believe he has rumors. They may be from bad David Aldridge “sources” but I do believe that the Cavs are looking at McLemore and a few teams want to trade down.
This draft will depend on who has the best Tier System. Take the best fit in the best tier. But, don’t take a guy in a lower tier.
This will be a great draft for teams who can really, really draft. Like the Spurs. I think they will have a good draft. I think they should take Jeff Withey at 28. He can be a better shot blocking, better dunking version of Tiago Splitter. He can also pass and looks like he has a solid basketball IQ. He’s actually one of my favorite big men in the draft. Then at 58, they can go in a lot of different directions. They could use an extra wing player. Or somebody to stash overseas.
The Wizards are actually in a really great spot at 3. Otto Porter should be there. Along with Oladipo if they want some defensive help and a high motor guy off the bench, or as a small forward in small ball lineups. Alex Len should be there. If not Cody Zeller would definitely be there. He can score and rebound, and also run the floor with Wall and Beal. Nerlens Noel might even be available at 3. Anthony Bennett will be another guy to look at.
Charlotte at 4 should just go BPA. Kemba Walker looks like a core guy. As does MKG, but the rest of the spots are open. Biyombo might be a guy for the future or he might not.

JoeWolf1The Gortat / Zeller swap was on espn.com’s insider this morning. I read it too. It’s legit.
-Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio was asked if he’d heard the rumor about the Suns possibly shipping center Marcin Gortat to the Portland Trail Blazers and he responded: “If (Indiana forward/center) Cody Zeller drops to 10 (in the 2013 NBA draft), hear it could happen. Suns seem to love him.”
The Blazers need a starting center and they will have enough salary cap room in July to accept Gortat’s $7.72 million next season, so a simple swap of him for the draft rights to Zeller would work. Of course this hypothetical deal will blow up if Zeller is selected before the 10th pick.
The Suns could also take a huge gamble in the summer if they want to get rid of Gortat by working a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers for Andrew Bynum. Both teams can have enough room below the cap to do a deal where Gortat would head to the Sixers and Bynum would land with the Suns. Bynum’s salary will be a lot higher than Gortat’s, but it works because of the Suns cap room.
Personally, If I liked Zeller and I were Pheonix, I’d just draft him. I honsetly think in 3 or 4 years that the difference between a 5 and 10 pick isn’t going to be very much.

mercyman25ParticipantThey could still get a trade done to bring in Mccollum or Pope or even Shabazz. That would be a great start for the Suns rebuild.

ThunderHog35ParticipantOKC will be taking an international prospect at #29 if they keep the pick. The want the player to stay off their payroll to avoid going higher above the cap.
Also starting to hear pieces that Sac will be looking to move Evans to pick up another 1st rounder. Don’t know why they would do that though….

ThunderHog35ParticipantI like it both ways. I’m a sonics fan, but now a thunder fan too and the continuity was too good to pass up. Haven’t decided who i’ll root for when Seattle gets a team back though. I heard yesterday there was movement on the expansion front from the league and the Hansen group. Anything new being said up there?

A rumor can be from anyone, I thought this site was for basketball people to talk about basketball. Not complain about literature and sources and who can be the biggest bandwagoner… Anything to get points….. Anyways
I heard the magic rumor as well, and that’s te pick that intrigues me, what If the magic trade for Bledsoe for the number 2, and the clips take McLemore to hold down the starting shooting gaurd position for years to one with Chris Paul. OR What if they take Otto Porter and surprise everyone and ruin everyone’s mocks. Haha, I think Bledsoe fits the youth movement and gives them some defense at the PG position. Then in next years draft they can draft a gaurd .
