I was just thinking about it, and I think the perfect fit for Rudy Gay would be: New Jersey.

    PG:Devin Harris
    SG: Courtney Lee
    SF: Rudy Gay
    PF: Derrick Favors
    C: Brooke Lopez

That’s a sick starting line-up….Obviously wont be deep enough to contend for the title immediately but they could conceivably get a good role player with their pick in the 2nd round in this deep draft, and will still have money to make moves the following year or 2 as well.

Dude. Nets are getting stacked with Talent..
Harris is already shown he’s an All-Star.
Brook is the 2nd Best Center in the East..
T-Will to me is a Stat Stuffer
Lee showed he can start on a Championship Caliber Team & defend very well.
Then there’s that Draft Pick of theirs..If it is Favors, he’s got some much Potential..
Their bench isn’t that bad & would only get better if Rudy Gay signed with them.
I still am not ready to give up completely on Yi, I’ve seen his potential & he’s shown it plenty before already..
I hope someone goes to NJ..

For some reason I can’t see the Nets singing a big name free agent unless its for a ridiculous max contract

T-Will and Lee are interchangeable coming off the bench/starting with this team. They both bring different things to the table and both would play a lot of minutes. T-Will is the better rebounder, passer, and slasher while Lee is the better shooter and defender. I think they start Lee because, well, that’s what he was brought in for to be the starting SG. Meanwhile T-Will will play backup because he is better suited to play multiple positions.

The Nets new owner is going to want to make some changes this off-season. He is a guy who will not take another losing season like the one they had, but he will also be smart. Signing the young Rudy Gay to join this team makes immediate improvement for now and the future, and shows he is not a guy to doubt by any means in the NBA.

Once they get (or groom) a few better role players to come off the bench (specifically a better backup PG and a better defensive-minded big man to rest Lopez) they would be a force to reckon with in the east probably about the year they move to Brooklyn.

Brook is 2nd best Center in the East, guess u forgot about Andrew Bogut.
1st that wouldn’t be saying much some teams don’t have a legit Center signed for next year inclulding the Knicks, Wizards, Cavs, Pistons, Heat, Raptors.
Also I thought everyone here was on the Noah bandwagon.
Nets will probably get a big name for a lot of money not sure if its Boozer, Amare or Joe Johnson.

I just like having that as my subject line…..as for Rudy the perfect fit for him is Memphis…..

I don’t think the Nets will be stupid enough to sign Joe Johnson

I think Joe Johnson could be a Net. He’s a good player but a more better Terrance Williams

Brook Lopez is like the 4th best C in the East. Bogut, Howard, Noah IMO are better.

Thats absolutely ridiculous….Maybe Bogut, i dont think so but maybe….but cmon Lopez puts up awesome numbers as a second year player being the focal point of the offense…Noah is much more of a hustle player greatly helped out by playing with Rose

First off, there are lots of players who love to score in the NBA. I rather take a defensive player like Joakim Noah who can get boards and do something Lopez cannot do, Defend. Howard is 1000% better then Lopez and Bogut’s numbers speak for themselves.

To be honest, Bogut is what Lopez could be in his prime.

Howard and Bogut are better.. I’d take Lopez over Noah, though. Lopez is 7′ and is very skilled in the post. Noah is the better rebounder, but Lopez has a well rounded game.

Alot of people would take Lopez over Noah and numbers wise, no problem.

It’s just when I watch Lopez play, I see a offensive big. When I watch Noah play, I see a defensive big who has the tenacity to help a team win a championship. I think Noah has a #1 option’s attitude and has the toughness on defense I need from a big.

Bill Simmons said it best ” Rose and Noah are warriors”

Careful of Lopez’s numbers on a very bad team.
He has a lot of skill but don’t expect him to be a 22, 12, 2.5 guy in his career.

i def think the clippers are a better fit than the nets. i think the clippers have alot of talent that can take the pressure off rudy and jus allow him to let the game come to him rather than put it on ur shoulders

Honestly, how many of you can comment on Lopez’ game? How many of you were actually watching Nets games this past season with all their losses? You can’t just look at numbers and come to conclusions about players.
