Poor Man’s Lamar Odom?  Poor Man’s LeBron James? Who Knows?

He’s smaller than Odom in height (6’10) but White is listed at (6’8) like James and he’s also listed at 260 lbs. (10 pounds bigger than LeBron). White has the ability to make plays like both Odom and James and seems to have an " inner PG " that likes to come out from time to time like both Odom and James. White’s not a great defender but he has the tools to become one if he dedicates himself to becoming better on that end of the floor. White Plays with finesse like James and Odom but he’s not as good a shooter as Odom and he’s not as athletic as LeBron (but then again, who is? lol). White has a pretty decent basketball IQ but he gets caught trying to do way too much when he shouldn’t.  Pretty good rebounder and does his work before the ball reaches the rim. The thing that makes Royce so intriguing is his passing ability ala Odom and James. White makes passes before most passing lanes open up due to him having great court vision. How many players can drop (6+) assists without being a primary ball handler? lead alone a PF!. White uses his body well but not as much as he would need in order to become that dominate force in the open court. I believe can see Royce causing plenty of match-up problems at the next level. He obviously has the potential to be something special, whenever he pulls it all together that is.

    Thoughts?

After watching him play a little bit in the summer league I wasn’t that impressed.

I dont think he’s Barkley, but he’s probably a good rotation player. I’m thinking Thaddeus Young.

He has never played in all 82 games of an NBA season, and he’s been on a steady downhill slide for most of the last seven years.

There’s no anointing or Hall of Fame predicting going on right now, but it’s safe to say that Pistons rookie Andre Drummond is a very exciting prospect — a player unlike any they’ve had in a while.

“I like to play both,” Varejao said. “Power forward, I get to move a little bit more. Center is a more physical game and I get to be in there fighting.”

“I really do think of Andy as a power forward,” Scott confirmed. “I think that is his natural position, but in today’s league, he can play center with no problem and he has proven that.

However, in the NBA it is often said that one team’s trash is another team’s treasure. Two days after he was released by the Spurs, New York Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald signed Novak off the waiver wire. It was Novak’s fifth NBA team since being selected in the second round of the 2006 NBA Draft.[9098

When Novak became a free agent this past summer, the Knicks organization was determined to keep him in NYC. The Knicks were able to exceed the salary cap to re-sign Novak only after a surprising court ruling that led to a settlement between the NBA and the players’ union, which gave players claimed off waivers their “Early Bird rights.”L;’k;l’k

What We Learned From the Preseason: The Bobcats are still bad. New head coach Mike Dunlap is going to make these kids much better, but it’s a process taking a roster with zero talent and turning it into something respectable. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist showed why he was the second overall pick this past June, but the rest of this roster needs work. And work takes time. Consider 21 wins a baby step in the right direction, even if getting there is going to be a painful thing to watch.

What We Learned From the Preseason: Amar’e Stoudemire isn’t ever going to be the player he once was, not with those injured knees. Most recently, a ruptured cyst in his left knee will keep him out five weeks, but that’s not even the end of New York’s injury woes. Tyson Chandler, J.R. Smith and Marcus Camby are also fighting ailments already, and that’s not even taking into consideration the loss of Iman Shumpert, one of the team’s best defensive players who will miss most of the year rehabbing his ACL.

While Calderon is one of the Raptors’ leaders and a stabilizing influence with the second group, Lucas has shown he can run the offense effectively in the preseason and his credentials with the Chicago Bulls speak for themselves.

They’re pretty excited about having Kevin Martin on the team and they know him very well on a personal level, but also on a basketball level as well and I think that’s going to be important for us but when you make these decisions for us, we’re not doing it haphazardly. We’re going to try and think it through the best that we can and as I said before, we’re going to try to balance the objective of franchise short and longterm and we feel like with this particular transaction we’re addressing some needs. We’re also positioning ourselves moving forward with flexibility and we’re making decisions based on the reality we face and also the realities of the new CBA.”
