Your Top 5 Rookies so far.

    1.Rubio

    2.KI

    3.MMorris

    4.Brooks

    5.BKnight

Will Derrick Williams Max out his potential while playing behind Beasly/WJohnson? I think if you draft guy’s with High Upsides you should find a Way to get them on the Court. The same thing should happen in Detroit, BKnight should continue to be the Starter even if Stuckey is healthy.

Stuckey and Knight are both combo gaurds so Knight should keep his job, I think they will eventually start both.

My top 5 so far are:

    1a. Ricky Rubio

    1b. Kyrie Irving

    • Both have impressed me so far and hopefully they can keep it up. Would put Rubio first but probably would be biased, as I’ve seen him play more. But in general they both deserve it at the moment.

    3. Iman Shumpert

    • Defensively anyways, can’t say much about his shot selection.

    4. Kawhi Leonard

    • Impressed me a lot since Manu got injured, playing very well defensively. Hopefully his shooting numbers can go up, and will be a very intriguing to watch grow.

    5. Jon Leuer

    • Played well when Bogut was in Australia. Overall good all round player; does a bit of everything. Solid numbers deserve a mention in my books.

Can’t really force myself to add Marshon Brooks. Playing on a pretty bad team has shown solid numbers so far. Will be watching to see if he can keep it up.

I’m going to copy JohnDoe and go with Rubio and Irving at 1a and 1b.

    1a. Ricky Rubio

    1b. Kyrie Irving

    3. MarShon Brooks

    • It looks like he is NJ’s second best player right now, and that is pretty impresive for being the 25th overall pick.

    4. Kawhi Leonard

    • Has done a real nice job filling in for the Spurs, and looks like he can be a pretty good defensive player and rebounder in the future.

    5. Tobias Harris

    • I know he hasn’t played in many game so far because of the dehydration thing, but he has played very well for the Bucks lately and I think will end up being a very good player. Could have also put Shumpert here.

     My top 5

    1. MarShon Brooks- I know some people won’t like this but after last nights game, which was one of there 4 wins, where he led the team in minutes and had 22pts 8rebs 6asts and only 1 t.o. He also hit a 3 in the final minutes that helped them pull away. Of all the rookies he has had to beat out the toughest competition in Anthony Morrow who alot of guys on here are high on.

    2. Kyrie Irving- Has a lot less help then Rubio, and they have a surprising 6-7 record.

    3. Ricky Rubio- Not much to say here the kid has Nash like passing and speed just needs to work on his offense and he will be an All Star soon.

    4. Kemba Walker- I know you had Knight over Walker, but Walker is playing 7 less minutes and there numbers are almost identical minus the turnovers…

    Walker- 11.5pts 3.0 rebs 3.3ast 1.1 stls 1.7 T.O

    Knight- 11.8pts 3.7rebs 3.3ast  .9 stls 3.3 T.O

    5. Kawhi Leonard- He is a great defender and is able to defend SGs SFs and even PFs. He is still pretty raw and thats why his 8 points and 5 rebounds a game is impressive.

I know some are thinking Shumpert and Morris are deserving but we all know D’antoni’s system inflates numbers I mean look what it did to Felton, he was a double double machine. And Morris has been very streaky lately.

I wanted to give Tobias a nod as well but like you said he hasn’t played enough and I wanted a longer look at him, but I was impressed with him the other night against Denver 14pts 8 rebs and 3 asts.

His stats are amazingly solid and hes been an extremely efficient 19 year old rookie so far…when he gets starter minutes he could average 20 ppg 7.5 assists and shopot 40 % from three

I have Irving first, having better stats than Rubio on a better team, then Rubio, much better on offense than expected. Shumpert posts good stats but must work on his shot selection. Leonard is very impressive as he can defend at least two positions and has already shown he was a steal as the #15 pick. Brooks is proving he’s a real scorer, then I think Charlotte’s duo of Walker and Biyombo will be very good, Biyombo could be a Ben Wallace type of center and will be a better offensive player.

Another guy who’s flying under the radar(or at least not getting a lot of mentions) so far has been Chandler Parsons. I am kind of surprised by the number of minutes he’s playing. If I have to be fair, having watched last years Florida run and not being overly impressed with him, his development at NBA level has caught me by surprise.

Rubio has surprised me this season the way he can run a offense. But Irving is the top Rookie bar none. Irving is asked to do more, he has to score and create offense, play defense and lead a group of veterans. Rubio just needs to set the offense and get the scorers the ball. Rubio might be a better passer than Irving, but Irving does more and is better in all other areas of basketball.

Biyombo interests me, he’s very active, there’s something special about him on the defensive end of the floor. He’s a high character guy and i expect him to have a solid work ethic because of his attitude. I’d like him to be a bit more vocal, that’s what attracted me to him initially, he was a leader and he seemed like that ‘big brother’ on the floor. Maybe it’s just that he feels he doesn’t have the right to take control or something.

He shows flashes of what he can be, he wasn’t intimidated by facing Howard which was a telling sign of his character. With a couple of seasons behind him, who knows. This is a guy that i could see go either way, which heightens my interest further.

With all of that said, he’s 19 and has shown promise, his shot blocking is for real 1.5bpg in 12.1mpg is impressive, if he doesn’t fully pan out, there’s always a roster space in the NBA for him as a shot blocker.

I know this is only one play but Biyombo showed great defensive awareness and knows how to utilize his absurd wingspan… They were playing against the Heat… He defended Bosh, Bosh made a creative and spin move and was able to get past Biyombo but Biyombo recovered quickly and blocked the shot… That play was impressive by the fact that he didn’t give up on his man and was able to utilize his long reach to block Bosh’s shot..

Biyombo needs minutes!  Who’d have thought he and Byron might be a legitimate starting tandem in the NBA!

@PrecociousNeophyte, it’s not a question of whether i believe it, he’s listed as 19 therefore i look at him as a 19 year old, i’d rather not open the can of worms on the subject of his age.

Minus his insane and gaudy shot selection, he’s killing it! Especially on defense, I know its early, but defensive effort can be seen and measured at any portion of the season, he really gave Jrue Holiday a fit a couple of games ago. He is top 5 in steals so far this year as well. Stop all the erratic shooting kid!!!
