NbafanmanParticipantBoston is asking for a first rd pick for Rondo and Jeff Green and the pistons are actively shopping Monroe so I believe this trade makes perfect sense for both teams.
Boston gets: Monroe, Jennings, Jerebko, 1st rd pick (likely top 10 even with rondo)
Detroit gets: Rondo, Jeff Green.
Boston lineup: Smart/Jennings, Bradley/Thorton, Young/Turner, Sully/Wallace, Moose/Olynk
Detroit Lineup:Rondo/Augustin, KCP/Meeks, Green/Singler, Smith/Green/Butler, Drummond
The pistons immediately become a playoff team on the rise with a good mix of young guys (Drum, KCP) and proven vets (Rondo, Meeks, Smith).
The Celtics get their core group of young guys to go along with two top 10 picks (their own and detroits) trade Jennings in the offseason as he will be on his contract year and draft two young prospects to add to the rebuild.

xJumpManxParticipantBoston only gets a bad pg and average at best bench playter and Monroe for Rondo and Green. I wonder how many seconds Ainge would be on the phone before he hung up laughing.

prophetmeirParticipantThey still get a first round pick in the process , I wouldnt take Jennings back in the trade tho I would probally ask for KCP.

mixtape2003ParticipantI don’t see Pistons giving up Monroe and a 1st round pick with the chance of Rondo walking in FA, and if they immediately become a playoff team how is it a top 10 pick?

Chilbert arenasParticipantAnd the Pistons somehow get even worse at spacing the floor.

ReekoParticipantThe Celtics are not interested in trading Rondo to a team in the Eastern Conference. They are currently in talks with teams out West, reportedly the Mavs and the Rockets.

King CaluchaParticipantMatching salaries is kind of tricky. I’d definitely move Monroe + (heavily) protected 1st for Rondo.
