DAMN… I’m getting tired of the top players going down with knee injuries. This has been the worst season I can remember.
I’m looking forward to seeing if the Celtics can make the playoffs without Rondo.

DondiJohnParticipantI forgot Washington was in 14th place. Its gonna be Philly fighting Boston for that 8th spot with Detroit and Toronto chasing them

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantSo Rondo gt a triple double with a torn ACL?!?!?!?!? Wow
0- Posted on: Sun, 01/27/2013 - 10:07am #742138
IndianaBasketballParticipantHe even tried to play this game…
That’s amazing because the pain and swelling after tearing an ACL (regardless if it’s a complete or just partial tear) is out of this world. You can barely even bend your knee.

aamir543ParticipantHe supposedly tore it with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter in a game that ended up going 2 OTs. I went back and looked at the play-by-play, and after that point in the final 12 minutes, he had 2 points(1-4 from the field) 4 boards, 2 assists, and about 5 turnovers.
Can someone who watched that game let me know how he looked in the OTs?

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantI don’t like Rondo but he earned my respect big time, I only straned my ACL last year and my leg felt dead. Lets hope for a speedy recovery

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantYeah Celtics are done. Tuff break for Rondo. It looks like Jrue Holiday will start the ASG, and prolly B jennings being a replacement

Hi its BenParticipantI look for Joe Johnson to take his place, before Jennings

DondiJohnParticipantDwill->Joe Johnson->Jennings

HitsterParticipantD-Will would perhaps be a logical PG replacement in AS Game.

IndianaBasketballParticipantShould the Celtics keep pushing for the 8th seed without Rondo or is it time to blow it up? Danny Ainge might be taking this as a sign…
IF the Celtics go the route they should, Rondo won’t have surgery until about the first week or two in Feb. IF it takes Rondo 9-10 months to return… Going from there… Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec. We won’t see Rondo until about late Nov or early Dec maybe. That’s rough… Wish him the best. I hope he attacks his rehab.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantBlow it up now, they are lottery bound this season and next season Rondo will be coming back really slow like Rubio. The East is getting younger and better, so Boston needs to also get younger.
0- Posted on: Sun, 01/27/2013 - 10:31am #742159
IndianaBasketballParticipantRondo is going to struggle just like Rubio for the simple fact neither player can shoot and when you first come back from an ACL tear, you lack that quickness and, most of all, that ability to cut, plant, pivot, change direction and just move laterally. Rondo is going to struggle big time. Defenders are going to sag and he’s going to lack that quickness to still get to the hoop.
I won’t hesistate to say next season could be lost by the Celtics as well IF it takes Rondo longer to return. Not everyone can be Adrian Peterson.
I’d blow it up. I know you still have KG and Pierce, but Idk… You got to do what’s best for the team in the long run.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantI agree 100%, Boston could easily flip Garnett and pierce for multiple picks in the 2013 draft, which will give the celtics a young foundation; they would probably have a lottery pick in that monster class also. Maybe they can sign a guy like granger or Iggy in that offseason also
