Rondo pissed me so off with this. He’s one of my favorite players and I’m a die hard Celtics fan and he goes and makes a boneheaded play like this! I don’t know who pushed first but Rondo shouldn’t have pushed back.

The reason why I’m especially mad is…HIS STREAK IS FREAKING BROKEN ON A PLAY LIKE THIS. He had the 2nd all time streak for most consecutive 10 assists in a game at 37 and he was for sure going to break Magic’s 46.

Maybe I’m selfish that I wanted him to break the record, but doesn’t everyone love to watch records broken? So disappointed.

I like rondo for that reason because you know he cares and will do anything for his team. Having one guy like him on a team is good thing to have, having 3 or 4 then they can destroy your team.

Hahaha, of course Garnett would be a punk like this!

He gets into with Bill Walker, Mario Chalmers, even an old Anthony Peeler but when Kris Humphries touches him, he flops then doesn’t jump in until after Rondo and everyone else jumps in. Not only that, when Gerald Wallace got in his face, he quickly turns around and starts trying to help Rondo up.

KG doesnt back down from any player…first off he didnt flop it wasnt a hard push but he was airborne dont have that much control, have u ever been in the air and been knocked off balance, its easier to just catch your fall then to try to land on your feet and hurt yourself.
Then he Rondo was right next to humphries when the foul occured, so unless it was the Flash no one was gonna be up and stopping it before Rondo pushed Humphries.
And Wallace Ran Into the pile up not at KG so KG was right there made sure Wallace wasnt getting in it, and was Trying to Get Rondo!

I don’t think it was a flop so much as KG was off balance and Hump gave him a little shove. I couldn’t tell if Hump did anything on purpose. It certainly wasn’t a hard foul or even a dangerous one. I don’t see how Rondo gets so worked up about that.

I know you are trying to be nice about it. But no matter how many times I seen that foul. It was clearly a flop. Did humphries give him a hard one hand push a bit? Yes, but garnet is damn near 7 feet 250. While Humphries is no weakling, KG totally over-sold the foul.

And Rondo…I love that guy as a player. But he is a major douche and always has been. Still my favorite pointguard in the NBA, and its sad to see his streak end this way. If I were the Celtics I would spend less time fighting other players, and instead spend more time fighting their way back out of mediocrity in the Atlantic division.

I dont think Rondo was thinking about how his streak was going to end at that moment in the game nor do I even think he cares that the streak is over. He would most likely rather just get a W. He clearly thought it was an unnecessary foul which I agree with because Humphries follows through to hit KG in the face. Not really a hard foul, but I wouldnt like to see a teammate get hit in the face like that, Rondo just stood up for his teammate and sent the Humphries and the Nets a message that he and the Celtics aren’t gonna let stuff like that happen.
I agree it was silly on Rondo’s part cause they still had a chance in that game and he definitely didnt have to start a pushing match. But the overall message that he sent to the Nets wont be forgotten and could very well have an effect for the next meeting between these two.

I can’t believe how much hate rondo is getting for this. In his position, humphries has just knocked the team leader down (whether it was a hard foul is probably too hard for him to see from his vantage point considering he is going for the rebound). Rondo’s reaction is to give humphries a little shove in defense of his big man KG, a guy that would have anyones back, and humphries comes right back at rondo. That is when things break loose, and clearly noone is going to back down at that point.

When looking at the video a few times it doesn’t look like too bad of a foul (especially since it is KG who is known for hard fouls and some cheap shots himself), but I can totally understand rondos thinking in backing up his teammate in that. In fact all of the celts were in there right away which was frankly good to see.

I personally hate to see when players get in each others face after a hard foul to make it look like they’re tough guys.. its just uneccessary. However, I don’t really think rondo was in the wrong sticking up for arguably the most valuable member of the celts. As a teammate I would rather have that then him not being there to back you up.

humphries had already given rondo a hard foul earlier in the game too..
