could the rockets be playing the ultimate chess game. Lebron is one of the most competive players and has shown his willingness to take pay cuts. Is houstons pursuit of Melo really to make a run at Lebron? His best friends are CP3 and Melo. He’s stated his desire to play publicly with them. I think we all remover the banana boat. Wade will Aldine be a free agent and I could see him and LBJ signing 1 year deals to give GS a run.

Will Houston have enough cap space to sign Bron? No1 wants Ryan Anderson contract, then you have to re-sign CP3, Harden has a super max. We don’t know who will buy the Rockets..The only way Bron goes to the Rockets, if  new owner comes in and promise Bron a stake in the Rockets ownership once he retires.

Miami Bron took pay cuts. Cavs bron signs 1 year deals with second year player options to ensure he gets the max he can every year. At this stage of his career I don’t see bron signing for less. He makes others sign for less to play with him.

I have no evidence of this but I feel like the Knicks may be playing a game with Melo and the League. He can still ball and would probably be of use to multiple teams but the return for the Knicks right now isn’t great.

If the Knicks frustrated Melo enough where he turns to them and just says trade me which means the market for him could potentially improve so the Knicks get a half decent return I the shape of a first rounder and maybe half decent young guy as well, instead of just players that contracts match and can be part of the team on a temporary basis.

    Just a thought

Sad thing about all this is that the Knicks could possibly fight for the 8th seed if they were committed to Porzingas and Melo since they aren’t taking commands from Phil Jackson to run the triangle offense now. Porzingas is a budding star, Melo can still go for 23 ppg, Tim Hardaway Jr. is an upgrade and they a few decent role players like Hernangomez and Courtney Lee. There’s a whole at PG if Ntikilina isn’t ready, but this roster could at least compete if the franchise were stable.

You’re probably giving the Knicks too much credit. There’s a path for the Knicks to be relevant in a year or 2, but given their history they’ll still be stuck in a pertual cycle of mediocrity.
