tblazer_NZParticipantThe Houston Rockets put up a big billboard with an image of Carmelo Anthony in a Rockets uniform wearing the no.7 Jeremy Lin’s number.
What are your thoughts on this?

CodySLCParticipantI bet they don’t really care how Lin feels about it. He’s out the door anyway if they do sign Melo.

doubledribblerParticipantBeen watching too much ESPN? Melo also wears the number 7. I just don’t see the Rockets putting up an image of Melo wearing some other number. If you make a pitch you need to make a good one and if it is as simple as you want number 7, then it’s yours so be it. This is a sport where only 5 people can play at a time and allstars are always going to be picked over role players when it comes down to a choice between the two.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantYou are talking about a dude that got his spot taken from him by a mediocre point guard in Patrick Beverly. I’m pretty confident they don’t care about Jeremy lins feelings

bobbybParticipantIt is a business , case closed. Jeremy Lin was very welcome here in NY, but he wanted to go to the highest bidder. I dont feel bad for him one bit.

treytalkssports.comParticipantLin has been disrespected for over a year in Houston. Watching games, there would be times when went to the basket, got fouled, and went to the floor, only to have no Houston players come over and help him up. Sometimes, Harden would step around him and not help him up. But Lin was the first to help Harden up when he was fouled. In the games I saw, there was obvious chemistry issues.
Beverly is a good player who compliments Harden better than Lin did; that’s why he started. Lin improved his shooting percentages and became a better defender this past year. He did whatever the coaches asked him to do, and he did it with a good attitude.
Lin will never be a top 10 point guard in the NBA, or top 15, or maybe even top 20. However, he is the type of player that the Spurs get off the dump heap and repurpose into a player who wins a finals game for them (Patty Mills-esque). He has a great skill-set that good coaches could really use.
I hope Lin finds a team that he can help and that treats him well.

EndlessknightParticipantI wonder how much the Rockets would pay us (Sixers) to take his contract off there hands

Magic JordanParticipantRemember how much hate the Lakers got last year for hanging a D12 billboard. Seems to be a popular route this time around.

Mr. HookShotParticipantAct like these are not a good sign towards (potential) FAs coming to Houston. They first gave a big contract to a guy, and not want to get rid of him no matter what. Sort of "we will give you this contract because we couldn’t get any better, but if we get better we will treat you like garbage". And don’t start about Lin getting an immense pay-check and all, because that still doesn’t give you the right to treat him like they do. Proper organizations (not only sports) should treat their employees better than they do…

CynthiaParticipantI would think Melo would want #15 back anyways. #15 was his number in college and on the Nuggets, the only reason he used a different number on the Knicks was because #15 was retired to the great Earl Monroe.

Meditated StatesParticipantLin would cause come backs when he would enter the game. Lin was not used correctly at all. He was disrespected when the team looked better IMO when he was on the court. Yes Beverly was better on D, but please spare me. He was not canceling out the Offensive loss of Lin with his D. I have no issue with the Melo thing they are trying to get a all star.
