The Rockets could possibly be a lottery team after just missing the playoffs by a few games.

3 moves during the draft just started their downfall……

    1. Trading a proven quality team player in Chase Budinger for an unproven #18 pick (Terrence Jones)

    2. Trading Dalembert (Quality big man/defense/depth) in the 14 for 12 swap

    3. Not drafting Tyler Zeller at 16 (they should have taken Zeller at 16, and Royce White at 18). Royce can play the 3 or the 4, they did not need Terrance Jones after they already have Patrick Patterson/Marcus Morris on the bench, and Zeller is an NBA ready center who is a solid team player.

Last year they had one of the deepest teams in the league. PGs – Kyle Lowry/Goran Dragic, SGs – Kevin Martin (injured for much of the season)/Courtney Lee, SFs – Chase Budinger/Chandler Parsons, PFs – Luis Scola/Patrick Patterson/Marcus Morris, Cs – Marcus Camby/Samuel Dalembert.

By giving Dragic the starting role at the end of the season, they were pretty much saying he will be their PG and Kyle Lowry was expendable. Why did they not give Dragic a contract?

Past month has been brutal for the Rockets.

Doesn’t just missing the playoffs by a few games still mean they are a lottery team?  And I believe they have just missed the playoffs by a few games a lot in the past few seasons.  Might as well miss the playoffs by a lot of games and end up as a high lottery team.  Seems to be working for Cleveland / Toronto / New Orleans / Golden State / Washington etc.  Rough to watch for a few seasons though.

If you’re not first, you’re last!  And at least if you are last you get to pick first.

Letting Lowry and Dragic go doesn’t make much sense.

Lin will resigned by the Knicks, all they signed so far is Omer Asik and he’s really just a defensive player.

Offensively this team isn’t that strong Kevin Martin and a bunch of spare parts.
