SamCarlsonParticipantSo I have seen some good numbers being put up by this guy and he has peaked my interest. I know he was a big/post in college but his numbers look like that of a legit wing. Someone who watches the sixers on a regular basis… Does he have a legit wing skillset with his movement, handling, athleticism and defense? Or is he more of a stretch 4 masquerading as a 3? With some seasoning and improvements can this guy be a legit starting 3 on a playoff team?

ibe12ParticipantI think Covington is a legit wing player. His numbers have been better than anyone could have imagined but he’s doing it on the Sixers who have little to no scoring threats. He doesn’t do any one thing exceptional enough to be a legit starter. On a good team he’d be a bench player.

Ebown5ParticipantHe is starting for the Sixers because he is the best option that we have, but he isn’t likely going to be a starter once the team gets better.
However, he is one heck of a find off of the free agent scrap heap. He is a terrific shooter, but is also a pretty good athlete and hustle player.
He makes us a better team and makes MCW a better point guard.

Rong AgainParticipantRobert Covington is a legit NBA player (Sixers Starting SF?) and tonight started at SG vs Nets ……he drop 20pts. & 6 steals!!!!! Going forward the question is do the Sixers sign Both KJ McDaniels and RC3 for the future? I for one see the bench as potentially being CR3, Woten, KJ, Sims & a veteran FA or Draft pick next year.
