    Baylor basketball Rico Gathers is throwing his name into this years NFL draft with hopes of becoming the next hooper turned tightend.

     I’d like to see him as a defensive end but good luck either way. Loved him as a college ball player

    Probably be a camp invite, but he certainly has a chance to make it in the NFL.

    As a basketball player, I think his pro outlook was very similar to Jon Brockman. Maybe Gathers could have played a couple years in the NBA after a 2nd round draft selection or making it as an undrafted free agent, but I agree his NFL ceiling is much higher than that of his NBA projection.

    I had heard he was going to play football for Baylor next year, but it looks like he’s going straight in the draft. Wish him the best. As a Big 12 guy, I enjoyed watching him the past 4 years.
