I know many will be annoyed or hate this, but it’s just a video mix of his last game which was today. Pretty good I guess. There is another, but It’s just too long and I doubt people will care to watch.
His shot look solid and he only took 5, but I just want to know, is his release still too slow? It’s a question, not sarcasm. I know he still isn’t getting up enough on his shot.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/19/2009 - 7:21pm #203323
R-Dot-13ParticipantHis shot does look a lot quicker, he also seemed to have a ton of steals.
Whos #7? Guys a shooter.

RickyRubio9ParticipantJuan Carlos Navarro or Rudy Fernandez, I’ll recheck though.

RickyRubio9ParticipantJuan Carlos Navarro, on the first shot Rudy is next to him in Number 5 and I can tell by the hair he has.

Michael.S.ParticipantHe posted this on his twitter. Saw it earlier and his release is much quicker and he looks a lot more comfortable shooting from outside. Looks like he’s been working on it. Its still far from perfext as he doesn’t get much elevation nor does he bend his knees at all. Far from finished

R-Dot-13ParticipantYeah thats who i thought it was, guy seemed like he shot the lights out.
But Rubio looked solid this game, made a lot of passes that should have been finished.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/19/2009 - 7:31pm #203330

adf4538ParticipantThanks for the video. I love watching Ricky Rubio… I really hope he goes to the T-wolves, because I think he has the potential to change the already evolving game of basketball. With players like Dwade, Lebron, Dwight, and Rose in the league, the game of basketball is becoming more and more physical. I think in 5-10 years, the game has the potential to change into a more physical, faster-paced football like game (players are already wearing padding almost all over their bodies). But players like Rubio, who can change and disrupt the dynamic of the game (especially defensively) just by their presence on the court are combating this type of evolution with their brains and their basketball IQ. Watching this video, it is apparent that Rubio’s instincts are some of the best ever in the game. He controls the dynamic at both ends of the court. What amazes me the most about Rubio, though, is his anticipation. He’s not extremely quick, but he is always 1 step ahead of everyone else on the court. Even in the olympic championship game, you could see that he was 1 step ahead of everyone on the court, getting steals and disrupting passing lanes against the best players in the world. Rubio makes me happy about the future of basketball.

These are the kinds of things they were saying about Wayne Gretzky as he was entering the NHL, or maybe the year before. I don’t think they mentioned his defense, though, but it was said that he always knew where every player on the ice was at any time, and where the puck was going to go if it was heading toward the boards. He just had an instinct for the game that was beyond anybody else’s.
I hope Rubio ends up with the Knicks, though. He’ll be fun to watch wherever he is.
