on detroit they have two guys who both wanna start at the shooting guard position, Rip and Ben Gordon(who they just signed). So it is a possibility that detroit will trade the veteran hamilton for a center or a point guard which the pistons need.. So which teams in the nba do u think would trade for hamilton that have a center or point guard that detroit would take back.. Give me your possible teams/trades for rip.

My possible teams: charlotte, cleveland, dallas, LA Clippers, and Utah

You said that the Pistions need a point guard when they have Stucky, Bynum, and now Gordon, who can play the point for stints, and they still need another one?? I see the concern at C though. Charlotte is not able to trade a C unless they want to give up Chandler, which I doubt because Brown loves defensive bigs and Diop wont draw any attention. The Cavs dont have a C that the Pistions would want because Z is too soft, they arent trading Shaq, and Verajo has an outrageous contract. Dallas needs their C way too bad and IDK if they need a SG because they have Terry and Howard. Clippers have the trade pieces but they also have young Gordon who is becoming a great player in a couple more years. Utah has a couple young, soft, unproven Cs who would never attract a trade for Rip. IDK where Rip could go for sure but I would like to think he could play in Chicago in a trade for Brad Miller and Janero Pargo or Tyrus Thomas somewhere. He could end up in NY in a trade fo Curry after he tries to play a little bit. He would be great in Chicago or NY but IDK. I am excited to see what happens.

I’m pretty sure Gordon will come off the bench for a while, like he has done so the past few seasons.

ur probably right that if they dont trade rip before the season starts, then BG will be the 6th man, but why would they sign someone for 10 million a year to come off of the bench. I would like to see them trade Rip to chicago or NYK. Even though i think he is vastly overrated, he proved to be a good scorer when he has a good point guard next to him, like he would in chi-town. And anyone can play in Dantoni’s system as long as ur not slow so he would be fine there. The pistons need a center in return though. I dont know why people are saying another pg. They have Stuckey and Bynum, and like someone said, BG can play the point in spot minutes

I think Rip would be very effective playing next to LeBron and Shaq as an afterthougt. I also think he would be very good playing next to Deron Williams in Jerry Sloan’s structured offense. If a guy like Ronnie Brown who can shoot a lick can average double figure imagine what RIP could do coming off all those screens

would a rip for boozer trade be available? both wanna go but detroit wants a center and boozer is just a pf, kinda small for the center, but for one year they could probably get a way with boozer at the c, its not like anybody else on the team is gonna play defense.. haha

and i forgot about chicago, a rip for brad miller trade would work for both sides id say

new york probably wouldnt want rip cause he has a big contract for the next four years… how are they gonna get lebron, wade, bosh, and amare with him under contract? hahaha

the problem with rip for boozer is the contract. The jazz went well over the salary cap in order to keep both Millsap and and they have to take care of Okur next summer. They would be real tied down if they gave up an expiring contract in Boozer in exchange for a guy who still has 3 years and 30 million owed to him.

I think Rip the player could help a lot of teams, but he is overpaid and it will be difficult to move him for a quality big man.

how about this:
Detroit gets Joakim Noah and Kirk Hinrich
Chicago gets Richard Hamilton

pistons gets a young center that will work and hinrich who could back up both guard positions
chicago gets a good shooting guard who plays very well with a great pg, which the bulls have, and then salmons can back up both wing positions with rip and deng starting..

tempting, but I still doubt Chicago does that deal. Hinrich is their best perimeter defender and Noah is their best interior defender. Rip might not even start over John Salmons.

I don’t like that deal. Noah showed me something versus Boston during the first round of the playoffs and Hinrich is so underrated. I say keep them. If they’re looking for a two guard, I say wait until next summer… D. Wade might fall right into their laps.

Hamilton for Kaman? In a previous post I said this is a good trade for both teams. Pistons get a legit double-double centre and the Clippers get a 6th man who can let Eric Gordon flourish and mentor him. Not to mention, instant offense and defense off the bench.

cross Cleveland and La off that list. Cleveland has already done enough and i dont think they would make more moves. and anyways hes not a good fit because hes a lot like Mo William and i don’t think they would fit well together. and the Clippers already have Gordan, Griffan, and Davis, they dont need another scorer they need defensive players and i know they wouldn’t B trade Gordan.

heres the possibilities i would like to see the pistons do the most if they trade rip

1 emeka okafor for rip, can be done straight up
2kenny thomas + spencer hawes for rip (thomas will be a FA)
3carlos boozer for rip
4 Javale Mcgee + mike miller for rip…(i like this the most, miller will be a FA..)

2 and 4 seem to be the best bets for the pistons…..

I like the rip for miller and mcgee. but I don’t think the kings would give a very promising young center in Hawes for rip hamilton who plays the same position as KMart, TEvans, and Garcia.
