    report

Brandon Roy scored 32 points during a Pro-Am game in Seattle on Saturday.

Roy didn’t wear a brace and by all accounts he looked healthy, if a step slow, which is good news for the Wolves, who made a sizeable ($10.4 million) gamble on the health of his knees. We remain very skeptical about his durability, but this Pro-Am eruption follows multiple glowing reports from fellow players who have trained with and/or competed against Roy in recent months. Keep a close eye on him.

Im so proud for him hes a hell of a player and a class act. If Derrick Williams pans out as a 3 or they get a really good small forward in return for him they can have a scary team if everyone stays healthy.

Favorite college players. Best prospect in the land his junior year IMO and he stayed in school. He just needs to make his J water and monitor those minutes. Pulling for him.

Maybe it’s just me, but he looked really slow and, overall, pretty underwhelming in the video that was posted.  I wish him the best and hope he comes back strong, but that was actually kind of depressing to watch.

I have to agree with Throwback Mike, I didn’t see anything really alarming, but he can’t get much lift off his knees, he barely bends them at all when he shoots free throws, and he’s still trying to get back into the rythem of the game, figure out what is going to work for him. I’m happy he’s coming back, but he really doesn’t have any speed anymore, he was playing a lot point guard in that clip but what I really want to see him do is morph into a Kobe like post player. It’ll take years to develop the neccesary footwork, but I still think he can be good for 10-15 points a night, I am glad htat he was attacking, and the defense is in trouble when his stepback fadeaway starts falling again.

Thats awesome to hear that the T-Wolves might have done a great thing getting him. Though I would had prefer him to go with the Suns, just because their training staff is probably the best in the NBA and he might stay healthier there. Seen what they did with Grant Hill, got Shaq in pretty good shape and Nash had been healthy for most of his career there

He needs to think of himself as a 35 year old in the league.  Go way out of his way tot take care of his body, be thankful for his second chance, and really learn to thrive from the post with fade-away jumpers.  When MJ added that to his game, he was almost impossible to guard.

    Good luck Mr. Roy.

It’s ironic that the T-Wolves passed on Brandon Roy back in the 2006 draft and now he ends up there, I think that Roy will take his return almost game by game and if he can adapt his game then he can still be an effective NBA player. WE all hope that he succeeds but also that he does not do himself any long term damage.

His skill is obviously still there, he was a top SG in the league just a couple of years ago.  There’s no doubting his talent, its his knees we’re worried out.

1st year only guaranteed. Actually if he comes back to just 70-80% of his all-star days it will be a bargain.

Even if he cannot get back to his old level, he has the basketball IQ to compensate for this maybe similar to how Grant Hill reinvented his game. Plus if he has lost a step, he can really work on his shooting and 3 point range to help keep his scoring level respectable. Or he looks to be more of a point forward when Rubio is on the bench and just dictate his own playing speed.
