hbomb3300ParticipantDuring this free agency we have see restricted free agents get extereme interest like Haywood and Parsons. We have also seen good players like Bledsoe and Monroe get little interest. If Reggie Jackson doesn’t sign an extension this summer, where will he fall on the interest scale? Point guard is the deepest position in the NBA, which lowers his value quite a bit. Could he run into the same issue Bledsoe is having right now? Does this give the Thunder more leverage while trying to sign him to an extension? I think it’s in the Thunder’s best interest to get the extension signed this summer, even if it means overpaying him a bit, to make sure he doesn’t get a max offer from a team with way too much cap room next summer.

rickyfutureagentParticipantReggie Jackson is a good player, and this free agency market is inflated… But nobody in their right mind woulg give Reggie Jackson max money.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantI agree with ricky. Max money is out of the question unless westbrook gets injured(knock on wood) and reggie steps in and puts up 20ppg with a solid a/t ratio and good shooting % s. I think the most reggie gets is george hill money which is 8 million a year tops.

hbomb3300ParticipantOn what planet is Parsons worth 15 mill a year? What has Hayward done to warrent max dollars? I expect Reggie to put up better numbers next year… which isn’t a crazy thought. If he improves while getting more minutes he will put up Hayward like numbers. Considering next year’s free agency class will be much thinner than this year, is it that crazy to think Reggie could get a max contract offer from a team with a big hole at point guard and a ton of money to blow… like the Knicks?

hooverballParticipantSupply and demand. There was a high demand for SF’s this offseason. Since a couple of the best players in the league were free agents and happen to be SF’s, the teams that needed SF’s had also maneuvered to be able to offer big $$$. That’s why Haywood and Parsons got overpaid. This won’t carry over to next year especially at the PG position.

mixtape2003ParticipantBleadsoe has not been able to get a max offer, and Isiah Thomas only got around 7 per year with good offensive #’s. So reggie is not getting no where near max

IknoBall12ParticipantDoes get injured there’s no way u throw max cash at Reggie. What has he done to deserve it? And what team needs a pg that bad where they will throw that amount at him?

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantthe only way Jackson gets anything close to a max deal is if he all of a sudden shows above average distribution skills that he currently hasn’t displayed. Scoring combo points are a relative dime a dozen in today’s NBA. He’s talented and will get paid dont get me wrong but not for anything over 12 million at his best.

bmac697ParticipantDepending on if he has a break out year, I’d say he signs for 8-10 mill per year, hes a great player im an OKC fan, but I wouldnt sign him if hes seeking 12 mill plus, save your money and look to add other peices. It would be sad to see another young asset leave this team but we already know OKC is a budget team.

bigtymer32Participantif okc wouldn’t pay james harden why would they even think of overpaying for reggie jackson.he’s a good player but not a max player.bledsoe is a good player and talented as hell.not a max player yet.he should do a short term deal then become a free agent in two years.
