Reggie Evans / Officiating
I agree man. Evans has been the MVP of the series in my opinion...or at least the x factor. Hes dirty as hell, and I dont understand how it is just accepted, but hes making a huge impact.
It sickens me how much Chris Paul and Blake Griffin flop. Its absolutely rediculous. I've lost alot of respect for Chris Paul after watching him play this season. He plays hard, but he acts like a tough guy instigating alot of stuff, until the ref is looking then he starts flopping like crazy. Its just exhausting.
Yeah, everyone just seems to accept how dirty Evans is playing.
And speaking of CP3 and Griffin, there's a reason I call it Flop City.
Dirty.. High motor.. I don't know the difference anymore.. Chris Webber put it well, not someone you ever want to play against.. But someone you love to play with...
I love the way evans plays... it is basketball not ping pong... it is a physical AND mental game. If you're not able to beat reggie evans, well, you don't deserve to win at the end. Even if sometimes he's vicious, cunning ("pushes guys around and forearm-shivers them on picks"...) : that's part of the game and that has always been.
sometimes he is too much : ok.... but I prefer him (and others) being too much than lots of nba players being too soft. If you want to get mad at somebody... target the refs who are not able to whistle the way you want.
Remember how basketball was played during the 90's which is in my opinion (and I'm not alone) the most interesting years of nba.... cause there was some rivalry and some toughness every game from the 1st to the last quarter with tricky nasty plays.
I prefer watching Evans maul people than watching players take charges that's for sure... I am sick of fouls being called just because someone hits the deck...
I have more respect for those things that Reggie Evans does than anybody that flops. Flops to me are killing the game. I hate flopping with a passion. The other team can adjust to dirty play, they can just be dirty back. The refs are the ones that need to police it.
I remember when he had one good game he made a big difference in and people were singing his praises. I was thinking, "So, we're looking past him grabbing Chris Kaman's testicles now?"
joecheck
If anything, Evans is the biggest flopper in the league! He plays dirty but when someone tries to play physical with him, he flops! You can't act like this tough guy and play dirty while flopping at the same time. SMH.
And I'll say it for the Clippers. Feel free to neg me, but atleast hear me out too. This is the god damn playoffs, if something is helping you win, why not use it to your advantage. Its go hard or go home. You know what happened to the last coach who was complaining about dirty/sly/ref exploiting moves? He got swept along with his team the Mavericks.
Look we've been complaining about the officiating all season long, and it isn't getting any better. So why not figure out a way around it. Yes flopping is lame, yes dirty plays are sickening. But at the end of the day as long as no one truthfully ends up hurt and one team beats another, isn't that a form of strategy? These guys are competing for a championship, its win or go home. So why not do everything thats in your power to prevent yourself from falling off a cliff?
You never know what someone will do when you push them into a corner. In this case every team is on the edge, and they are doing what ever it takes to claw their way to the top.
Yep, he is a goon. That is his role and he certainly knows how to execute. I remember watching him in college and the commentators mentioned that his teammates HATE going against him in practice.
Guys like him are few and far between in the league anymore. Metta World Ron Artest Peace is about the closest thing to him but he is more a perimeter player. It is funny to watch how much he &$#%#&@! the other team off. As a Sixers fan I liked him when he was hear and feel like they could have used him this season to add some toughness. I sure wouldn't want to be on the court with him though that is for sure...playing against him that is.
The Grizzlies are in trouble... Losing game one and giving the Clippers confidence, instead of putting their feet on the pedal and going for their throats, will haunt this team the entire summer.
Memphis doesn't have one killer on their squad. I didn't think Randolph's knee would affect him this much, but it's clear it is. That's too bad because Rudy Gay isn't that guy and Gasol isn't a killer.
I hate flopping, but the refs are rewarding it. It makes the league soft to me, but the refs allow it, so eh... What can ya say?
Youre right. Why are the refs awarding it? Its so horrible. The NBA wants flopping to become part of the game obviously I don't get it. Maybe it makes it easy to control the outcome of the game for refs who knows but it is sickening. Reggie Evans play is sickening as well. I can't believe that these two opposites are both occuring. Flopping and mauling. They are both being allowed and are both equally as sickening. I hate to watch them now but if flopping calls really decide important games I am going to be very VERY upset with the NBA.

It sickens me.
Reggie Evans is openly playing dirty yet the officials, commentators, and fans are just like, "Well, that's how he plays."
How is playing dirty and flopping the norm nowadays? Seriously? The refs aren't going to call the obvious dirty plays when he pushes guys around and forearm-shivers them on picks?
