Of the 30 picks in the 1st round of the 2015 mock draft on this site, there are 13 players from the same 3 schools: Kentucky, Kansas, and Arizona. Thought this was interesting.

I think it’s because early on in the mock draft process, you can often only rely on hype to determine who will be the best player, thus be more likely to be highly drafted.  Players will either be hyped because they signed on to play for prominent basketball schools (like Kentucky, Kansas and Arizona) or they’ll go to these big schools because, thanks to the hype they’re receiving, had several big schools chasing them.

All three schools had players come back that were on the boarder of entering this year.

Kentucky: WSC, Johnson, Twins (Even Lee could have pulled a DeAndre Daniels and rode the playoff hype to enter early)

Kansas: Seldon was considered a one and done for a lot of the year.

Arizona: Ashley was considering coming out until his injury, RHJ could of been considered a bubble entry to this year’s draft.

Interesting and valid point, next year’s draft is a long way off but the talent already looks interesting when you throw in all the guys above, a potential beast in Okafor who will have had a year of Coach K to hone his game and an elite PG prospect in Mudiay who again will have had a year of Coach Larry Brown drilling good habits into him.
