Ramon Sessions
The Utah Jazz.
Him and DJ Augustin are two point guards that I am looking at to start at PG for the Jazz, because Harris just doesn't cut it, and he never will. Both the Bobcats and the Cavs could use a veteran to help further the mentoring process of Irving and Walker. Both Sessions and Augustin are starting PG's in this league. Also if Utah ends up with two picks (both lottery picks which could very well happen, the way the Jazz are playing right now) they could trade one of those picks along with Harris for Sessions. I hear that that is what the Cavs are looking for, more picks. They want to get the same out of this deal as they did when they traded Mo Williams last year to the Clips. (Picks as well as a player)
LAL. I hope they get this deal done, bcuz the other rumors are Gilbert and Iverson. I wouldn't mind them sparking our second unit but Sessions would be the perfect starting PG for us right now.
He is playing very well and it's actually making me rethink how good Irving really is, as a starter Sessions is 18ppg 12ast, and for the month of Feb. he is 14ppg 9.5 asts. This team is bad and the system they run is PG friendly.
Sorry off topic a bit but Devin Harris deserves a fresh start somewhere. He is a truly good veteran player, the Lakers could really use him...
Sessions meanwhile is starter caliber. But the sad thing is he's never really played a key role with any good teams (Devin Harris). So I'm not sure what would happen with winning teams starting these players. I have to believe they at the very least would make the team better. Here's to hoping that happens before they're beyond their peak..
He's one of my favorite PGs in the league. He's just an even-kill player on the court. He knows his limitations and runs the offense really well. Plus, at 6'3" he's a decent defender and has good size.
Lakers make the most sense although Dan Gilbert may not want to trade him to LAL unless he gets some picks in return. Dan Gilbert is a douche so I can see him doing something like that
I like the Utah suggestion. Devin Harris looks lost and out of place. Ramon can come in right away and make their offense more fluid.
The Hornets could also use his services if Jarrett Jack is still getting hurt. Gerivis is an okay back up but not a starter to me. Plus, having Sessions on board will allow Eric Gordon (when he's helathy) to get easier shots.
I'll throw out a dark horse team and say the Pacers could really use Ramon Sessions. Collison has been solid but I still am dissappointed in where he is now. He's a little too incosnistent for me and i think Ramon can just help perfectly and provide depth. This wouldn't hurt George Hill either because it'll allow George Hill play at 2 guard and provide the enegry and spark they need.
I think the Lakers should just move their first round pick and the exception for Sessions, but I understand why they're balking. The Lakers, even with Ramon Sessions, are a average team that has a slim chance of not making the playoffs this year.
Sessions, Eric Maynor, Andre Miller are starting caliber point guard on the bench. Augustine also have starters potential but I am not has high on him as these others. I wanted Knicks to get Sessions until Lin showed up. Lakers need Sessions but Arenas is a better fit for the offense they run. They are not used to a true point guard.
Actually the Lakers are a terrific fit for Sessions as they have become far more PG friendly. While their 2 seven footers are both terrific players and All-Stars, they re both at their best when someone is creating for them and Kobe no longer has the youth on his side to be the facilitator and closer all in one game. LAL most certainly needs Kobe to be ready to go in the final 2 minutes of the games, but with all the creating for others that Kobe hs had to do recently, he simply hasn't had the legs to close. Enter Sessions(or Rondo) and the creating for othes is put onto someone who would be expected to score less while not getting torched by every star or scrub PG in the leg. Not to metnion Kobe was at his deadliest fter the firsst 5 games when the ball was being given to him in the Karl Malone area as MB calls it which is about a half foot off of the post where Kobe can use his first gear to attack instead of having to use a bunch of clever dribbles to get his shots.
Anyone remember when he had 24 asts as a rookie for the Bucks?
The Cavs have been shopping him all season and with Irving going down for a week or two it has given them a chance to showcase him and he has upped his value. The Cavs said they were wanting a 1st rounder for him at the beginning of the year and I thought that was ridiculous........but the way he is playing right now it looks like they may be able to get one from a PG needy team (i.e. the lakers, jazz etc...).
That 24 assist game was crazy, but he's a very talented player, the Lakers would be a perfect fit, not sure if it would put them over the hump, but definitely better than Fisher...
The Lakers 1st rounder plus a trade exception for Sessions? What is that lol. Why would Cleveland hand over Sessions like that he is the 3rd best player on the team? It is going to take some talent to get Sessions. At least a little bit of talent.
As good as Sessions is dont forget his shooting percentage is around 36%, which is not good by any means. Although on a team like LA I think he would do well.
one thing that was disturbing; as Ramon's minutes decreased due to Kyrie being so effective so did his quality of play. He was having trouble finishing at the rim and had lost complete faith in his jumper. However once his minutes were guaranteed, the play went right back up. A trade to Utah could include a big (Jefferson, Milsap, Favors, Kanter) or draft pick, Lakers would include the better of their 2 picks and either Gouldock or their young sm.
Let me start by saying I really like Session's game. This year he has developed an outside shot which he previously didn't have and is still able to drive to the rim and distribute.
I am also a Cavs fan and this must be brought up. Sessions has been shooting well since starting (nearly 45%) but his assist numbers are inflated just like Jamison's shooting percentage since Irving went down. Antwan has come out of nowhere to look like the player he was in Washington. He is not taking as many 3s and is shooting 58% from the floor. His season % is 42 which includes the last 3 games. Right now Irving is really developing his passing game and knowledge of where players want the ball. Anyone who questions his value because of that either doesn't know basketball or don't watch the Cavs games. Jamison is about 80% of our set offense and normally plays with Irving and not Sessions. So when I mention his ridiculous jump of 16% in his shooting percentage, it is easy to see why Session's assist totals are that much better. Put him on the Lakers or a good team for example, I think him averaging nearly 10 assists per game and scoring 15 is very realistic.

He's been playing some pretty good ball as a starter since Irving was injured.
I understand that the Cavs aren't a good team, but I do think he is a starting PG in this league.
There are trade rumors of him leaving, where do you think he should go that would allow him to show he is a capable poing guard, as well as making the team better?
