joe2324Participantdo you think we’ll ever see a quintuple double in the nba? I believe Olajuwon is the closest on two occasions.
1987 38 points, 17 rebounds, 12 blocks, 7 steals, and 6 assists
1990 29 points, 18 boards, 9 assists, 5 steals, 11 blocks

I don’t even know who could to be honest.
If anyone right now it would be Josh Smith who would be the closest I think. But it won’t.0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/19/2013 - 3:51pm #740262
Lebron’s HairlineParticipantWhen was the last quadruple double? Gotta get one of those first; I won’t say never but I will say the stars have to align for that to happen

joe2324ParticipantI dont think i’ve ever seen a stat line as impressive as this. Olajuwon was a beast
1987 38 points, 17 rebounds, 12 blocks, 7 steals, and 6 assists
1990 29 points, 18 boards, 9 assists, 5 steals, 11 blocks

cuseflynn10ParticipantBack in 2009 Chris Paul went off for 33 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds, and 7 steals against the Mavericks. It’d be tough for any player to get 10 steals in a game, so if anyone is getting a quadruple double I would expect it to be a forward that can block some shots. LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka, and Josh Smith are some names that come to mind, but even still, it’d be difficult to even get 10 blocks in a game for these forwards.
I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I don’t see it happening any time soon.

lalailaParticipantCall me crazy but with the potential of being GREAT shot-blockers and a good playmakers at their position I believe Anthony Davis and Nerlens Noel one day in this upcoming decade might show something close..
today i believe someone like Noah are closest but still don’t see him blocking ten shots while being such a factor offensivelly to get 10+ points and assists

KHAM83ParticipantOr a dominant center. Howard can get 10 blocks, and if he’s dominating, especially on this Lakers squad, he can be fortunate to get 10 assists if teams double him.

IvoLParticipantnice one okay,
double double all time leaders
Point and Rebound- Karl Malone, 811
Point and Assist- John Stockton, 709
Longest continuous streak of double-doubles: Wilt Chamberlain, 227 consecutive double-doubles from 1964 to 1967Triple Double- Oscar Robertson, 181
First triple-double in league history: Dolph Schayes- 18 points, 22 rebounds and 13 assists
Averaging a triple-double in a single season: Oscar Robertson 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 11.4 assists per gameMost triple-doubles in a single season: Oscar Robertson recorded 41 triple-doubles during the 1961–62 season Wilt Chamberlain is second with 31 in the 1967–68 season
Youngest player: LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers), aged 20 years and 20 days, logged a triple-double on January 19, 2005, versus the Portland Trail Blazers. He had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists
Oldest player: Karl Malone (Los Angeles Lakers), aged 40 years and 127 days—the only 40-year-old player to do so—logged a triple-double on November 28, 2003, versus the San Antonio Spurs. He had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists
Double-triple-double (at least 20 of any 3 statistics): Wilt Chamberlain is the only player to have accomplished this; in a February 2, 1968 game vs. Detroit Pistons, Chamberlain tallied 22 points, 25 rebounds, and 21 assists
Longest continuous streak of triple-doubles: Wilt Chamberlain holds the record for the most consecutive triple-doubles. In 1968, from March 8 to March 20, he recorded a triple-double in nine straight games. The second longest streak is held by Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan, both of whom recorded a triple-double in seven consecutive games. Robertson’s streak occurred in the 1961–62 season, while Jordan’s streak went from March 25 to April 6 of 1989.
Triple-doubles by teammates in a regular season game: This has been accomplished only twice since 1985–86. It was achieved in a January 3, 1989 game by Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls vs. the Los Angeles Clippers. Jordan had 41 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, while Pippen had 15 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. It was also achieved in an April 7, 2007 game by Vince Carter and Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets vs. the Washington Wizards. Carter had 46 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists while Kidd had 10 points, 16 rebounds, and 18 assists
Triple-doubles by opponents in a regular season game: This has occurred only six times since 1985–86, four times involving Jason Kidd (while playing for three different teams):
Jason Kidd and Clyde Drexler (Dallas at Houston, April 11, 1995)
Jason Kidd and Clyde Drexler (Phoenix at Houston, March 22, 1997)
Gary Payton and Chris Webber (Seattle at Sacramento, April 18, 2000)
Jason Kidd and Jay Williams (New Jersey at Chicago, November 9, 2002)
Jason Kidd and Tracy McGrady (New Jersey vs. Orlando, February 23, 2003)
Caron Butler and Baron Davis (Washington vs. Golden State, November 23, 2007)now the answer you all want first the Quadruple-double
Nate Thurmond, 22 pts 14 reb 13 ast 12 blk
Alvin Robertson, 20 pts 11reb 10ast 10blk
Hakeem Olajuwon, 18 pts 16 reb 10 ast 11 blk
David Robinson, 34 pts 10 reb 10 ast 10 blkplayer that missed the quadruple double finishing with triple-doubles and a total of 9 in a fourth statistical category
Rick Barry, Larry Steele, Johnny Moore, Larry Bird (Bird sat out the entire fourth quarter. After playing the third quarter, head coach K. C. Jones informed Bird that he was one steal away from a quadruple-double and asked if he wanted to stay in the game. Bird declined, saying that he “already did enough damage.”), Michael Ray Richardson and Drexler 2 times
now the true answer there was only 2 players achieving the quintuple-double
The first was recorded by Tamika Catchings of Duncanville High School (Duncanville, Texas) with 25 points, 18 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals and 10 blocks in 1997
The second was by Aimee Oertner of Northern Lehigh High School (Slatington, Pennsylvania), who had 26 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals, and 11 blocks on January 7, 2012
Enjoy Brothers lol

IvoLParticipantfive-by-five is defined as a performance in which a player accumulates a total of five in five statistical categories—points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks—in a single game
Hakeem Olajuwon (six times) and Andrei Kirilenko (three times) are the only players to have recorded multiple five-by-fives (based on records since the 1985–86 season). Both are also the only players to record five-by-sixes (at least six in all five statistical categories)

aamir543ParticipantDamn Hakeem would’ve been a hell of a fantasy player, he’s the guy you pick #1 even though Michael Jordan was the best in the league. Am the only one who thinks we should have a retro fantasy league? That’d be pretty cool.

JoeWolf1I bet Wilt had at least one, he was a great passer for a big man and incredibly disruptive on defense.

TallmanNYCParticipantGetting ten steals and ten blocks in one game just seems really really hard. That’s 20 possessions you have to kind of end. Considering there are generally less than 100 possessions in an NBA game, that would be tough. And to get the blocks, but also be a focal point of your offense so you can get the assists. It would have to be a very multi-talented person. And while it can be done, there just aren’t that many possessions in a game to gather all those stats. I mean when you steal the ball, then you lose the chance to get a block. So each steal you have makes it that much harder to record the blocks.
