Since his career is in jeopardy. Lets say he doesn’t play another NBA game (as sad as it is to me), is there anyway that his contract could some how be either voided or wiped out from the Blazers’ salary cap room? I believe he still has 5 years on that contract, that is a huge cap space that Roy will be taking up during that period.

I read an online article couple of days ago regarding Roy’s injury and contract, I meant to post it here but I have lost the link. I dont remember every single detail on the article but from what I read that the only way Roy’s contract could be wiped out from the Blazers’ salary cap room (Roy’s contract is guaranteed and will get every single penny, but it wont count against Blazers’ cap room) is that if Roy files some sort of document stating that he will no longer play another NBA game in his career. I doubt Roy ever takes such action, because it would basically mean he is retiring and I doubt he gives up that easily without trying to rehab and giving it a shot.

But anyways thats what I read on an online article, too bad I lost the link.

Roy is getting his money. He should be able to play but he wont be at the same level he was. I really hope and pray he will get back to where he was, but it looks like he might become a very average player
